I'll watch it when it comes out to see for myself, but it looks like Marvel is starting to stumble big time with TV shows. Luke Cage had great first half, but after Cottonmouth died it took a nose dive. It's a shame too because I liked Daredevil and Jessica Jones more than most MCU movies.

Never been interested in any of these comic book shows, I hated Jones, I don't care for Cage, Iron first looks lame. Stilll gotta see Daredevil but i never do, something about not being part of the movies that turns me away from them.

Watched a few episodes today, it was okay. The issue for me lies with the main character mostly, at first he seems like an alright character, but I found his writing and abilities to be really inconsistent. The story itself isn't all that either so far.

Spoilers ahead:

Another big issue that kind of turned me off was his takeover of his shares in Rand. They built up the confrontation for those shares between Danny and Ward pretty well only to deflate it in under 2 episodes at first with a horseshit handmade vase that was supposedly given to him by Joy, which I found to be lazy writing and an easy way out, considering how the two brothers erased proof of Danny's existence beforehand. However, I said I'd look past it if the story would improve after that, but after that Ward just gives up the shares anyway after a very short span of time at his father's request.

Maybe the issue lies with Ward as an antagonist, as during the first episodes he's just a buttmonkey, having no interesting personal traits. It makes sense why Harold would want Danny close by, but Ward's attitude shift just seemed weird, all things considered.

I hope the story and/or Danny's writing gets better by the end of the season.

Also, I've heard that this series is mostly just giving him a backstory for a future street-level "Avengers" series that Marvel is planning to release sometime in the future.

I think there's just fatigue from 'Marvel street hero in a fistfight against a bunch of bad dudes in a corridor' they all suffer from. Daredevil S2 and JJ are the only two superhero shows i've ever enjoyed, the rest are trash.

The casting of Luke didn't help neither.

Haven't got to watching Luke and iron yet but I would think they would really go out of there way to make his action scenes spectacular

I watched the entire season in a span of a few days, this was one of the few Marvel characters (major heroes) I knew very little to nothing about except for a few certain things such as character name, power, and race, about this character. Now I first thought it was a bit slow at first and the origin story bothered me a bit as it seemed too much like a DC comic's male hero, Rich kid, parents died, and received an absurd amount of training.

But overall after all was said and done I loved the series, yes they could have definitely choreographed the fights alot better considering the character is (almost at this point in time) a martial arts expert. But outta the 4 (soon to be 5 netflix marvel heroes ) I would have to say he is a strong second favorite almost top favorite.

Now the thing that pissed me off about some of the negative reviews was that critics were saying that the "white-washed" the Iron Fist main character Danny Rand, saying that he should have been Asian, now that would have actually ruined it for fans because Danny Rand is not Asian, he in comic lore is what you would have called a spoiled privileged white boy. But yes Finn Jones definitely needs to take up some martial arts training in between seasons and the Defenders seasons to make his fights that much more impressive.

Or, and I'm really hoping this is the way they go, put the mask on him and let the stunt double do the fighting, that Chinese parade fight scene was good.

That was one of the good fight scene's the other good ones were the drunken master fight and the fight with the twins.

But one thing that really made me wonder was the force of power he showed in the final episode in the Rand building.....it really makes you wanna know just how bad he screwed up those lower floors with that shockwave punch lol

Right. I wish he had been showing power like that the whole time and they need to get rid of the tiring thing I don't recall one punch like that draining Danny so bad in the comics
