Yea it seems like kishi could give 2 shits about the series sry this point. I bet the other guy who wanted to do the sequel could do more justice than iMoto.
For someone who been with him for 15 years. He obviously trusts the guy. And for someone responsible for haku and zabuza and possibly the land of waves arc hopefully he'll turn this shitty series into something better.
Drawing backgrounds, cleaning up panels etc. Ikemoto is not the writer. Another guy is writing it- the one who wrote some of the light novel.
I suppose since he had been a reliable enough assistant for such a long time and developed a friendship/rapport, Kishimoto decided to give him a chance. If he didn't leave Sasuke hanging or didn't let Sakura die despite not knowing what to do with them for a good while, be assured he is not leaving his real assistant any time soon. 'Better make peace with it.
Small tidbit from this week's SJ Podcast: Hisashi Sasaki mentioned that Ikemoto was actually Kishimoto's chief assistant on Naruto. I had figured that was probably the case since he's the only assistant who had been with him for the entire run, but it's nice to have confirmation.
New SJ Podcast, new tidbits. Andy Nakatani, English WSJ's Editor-in-Chief, returned from his trip to Japan and Jump Festa, where he interviewed Kishimoto. Bullet points:
Confirmation that his next series will be sci-fi.
Kishimoto said that Boruto will be a legitimate, canon part of the Naruto universe. [*]As such, Kishimoto is really going to supervise it. "Like, super-supervise it."
Kishimoto considers the Boruto serial to be just as important as the new manga he's working on, so in his mind he's giving them both equal attention.
So Ikemoto is here to stay, people who are hoping for Kishi to suddenly come back and draw this manga(lol) should just give up and stop reading it. The dude is clearly sick of this series and probably wont touch it for a very long time.
The art is fine to me and least he draws Boruto good so eh.

CREATOR:- He created these characters and Ninja World, nobody can take that away from him. Super- supervises it, but supervises what? Clearly he isn't drawing, which only leaves writing script. That is done by that novel writer. Kishimoto is just making money off it, like how a company makes money off its franchise. Its NOT his story.
The reason why creator and super-supervisor tags are used is because nobody would buy the manga without these titles (again licensing/franchising). Kishimoto also makes money off it without working, so why the hell not??

if you sleep under Kishi's bed then yes :lol
otherwise they are a team that made up Naruto, not just Kishimoto himself alone, but his whole team. I agree if you say he contributes like 70-80% to Naruto, but without the rest, he cant do it alone, not at least 15 years....

Bro I really don't care what Kishimoto does. I was only responding to the fact that you said - "Kishimoto has no part of the story, so it makes it filler" -- When Kishimoto stated that he is supervising the series, at the same time giving it as much attention as his own new series (sci fi Manga).
People only don't like it because they either
I. Don't want a continuation of Naruto
II. Don't like where the series is going
No one is forcing anyone to read it, but don't state that the series isn't canon because you don't like it.

To like it, or hate it, I must first read it. Since its non-canon, why read it in the first place? Just because Kishimoto acknowledges it and has his name posted over it, doesn't make it canon. What is "canon" is Kishimoto's story and since he didn't write it, its not canon. Boruto movie is canon, because Kishimoto did write its story (he did a lot more as well, but its the story that counts). Sure you can say that since Kishimoto acknowledges it as canon, it is canon. But that doesn't stop him from pulling a Toriyama 20 years later and saying nope, not my story, non-canon, gonna start again. This is just one of many scenarios that could go down. He is happy to play along because he is getting free money.

its clear you don't know too much about the writing process when it comes to serial productions. 9 out of 10 times any serialized series has an overseer who gives the script writer material in which he can create dialogue with.
Example: Seth McFarlane creates the ideas and thoughts for Family Guy, while a team of writers come up with the script, and a director well, directs it.
Example #2: Larry David came up with the plots and characters and themes for Seinfeld while the writers created the dialogue.

Bro no matter what you say, the story is canon. It doesn't matter what you think is canon or not canon, the author of the series stated that the story takes place in the story-line of Naruto, it is legitimate.
I don't see why you're preaching this nonsense tho. I get it, the story hurts you're feelings or something. That's cool and all, but let's go back to the real world where there is no such thing as perfect. If you truly don't like what's going on, you don't have to take it seriously. You can literally leave it alone and forget about it. Though you can't pick or choose if it's canon to the story. Only Kishimoto can.

Why go to TV series world when examples lie within the manga world? The credit system in similar geographies is generally similar..

You can clearly see Written by Akira Toriyama. Toriyama also gives broad outline and doesn't get into details and doesn't write dialogues and shit. STILL had Written By credits to him. Kishimoto doesn't, so he doesn't do even that.

So what stops him from pulling a Toriyama 20 years from now and rubbishing all this nonsense? Starting from the point he left off, only recognising that as canon. No bro. Even Kishimoto can't change definition of canon. Kishimoto may have control over his manga, but does he control the definition of "Canon". No.
If we believe this, then all the comics are canon, even though Superman is best friends with Batman in one version and can't stand him in the next, then all those versions are equally true and we must believe Superman is best friends with Batman and hates him as well. That sort of mess has generally been avoidable in the manga world, as the content comes from one author only. That is why "canon" even makes sense in manga world, opposed to comic world. But if you start considering content by whoever writes the story next as canon, may as well stop worrying about canon.
It hurts? Yes it hurts, to see people desperate to get new Naruto content, so much so that they will accept any BS by the mangaka. It hurts to see the mangaka so shamefully leeching money off fans. Boruto manga, idc about it all. But what BS people are willing to accept is truly worrisome.
I am done explaining my point. Its pointless to argue coz neither you nor I would change my viewpoint.
I can't believe Kishi is trying to defend his sorry ass because he can't draw. I am sorry this is the exact thing people get when negative comments float around.
We all know it was Kishi who was responsible for all those costumes and Kishi himself has to feel bad and say that in an interview. People like the OP will be the first one to buy those arguments though. Pathetic really.
