The sword Uchiha Shisui uses and/or is seen with is a Tanto, used often for disembowlment in the ritual suicide Seppuku.

I just found that interesting, considering the fact that he committed suicide. Anyone else have anything interesting?

He didn't commit suicide. Itachi killed him to gain MS. The note he left was made up. After Danzo took his eye, he went to itachi knowing he was going to be killed so Shisui has Itachi take his eye and kill him for the sake of the village

Itachi didn't push Shisui over the cliff. Shisui jumped of his own accord. It could be considered an "assisted" suicide, but Itachi didn't take Shisui's life.

which is basically committing suicide. Technically it's "assisted suicide" since it's his friend's hand that does the killing, but it's still a form of suicide.

Then how did he gain MS? He has to kill someone close to him. He even admitted it to gain power even though that wasn't the real reason.

You don't have to kill them, per say. Just watching him die must've been enough. Or maybe he felt guilty and considered it his fault. Before he killed the clan he did look at the note rather fondly.

One does not have to kill someone in order to gain MS, but rather the feelings of losing a dear one and someone close must be felt.
