I hear alot of complaints like "Oh Sasuke just pulled out these new techniques out of nowhere" and "Oh Kishi, yet another asspull"
I think all the people who feel this way after reading chapter 692 need to re-evaluate the chapter and I'm here just to place my two cents and put them in my perspective. So Here We Go:
1. Sasuke's Plan
I believe Sasuke had a plan of this Revolution ever since he arrived to the battle field. I honestly think Kishi showed a great use of foreshadowing and had this planned out from the beginning. When Sasuke first arrived to the battlefield and teamed up with Naruto, at moments he seemed shocked and astonished that Naruto has gotten so powerful. Putting two and two together, I think he was astonished more for the fact that his plan wouldn't work out if Naruto had surpassed him. Right now his major issue is Naruto and I think he realized that from the start. Also to rehash that Sasuke had the plan from the beginning is back when him and Naruto caught the 10 tails with the combo and he stated he wanted the beasts to "burn along with the fallen shinobi system".
2. Following through with the plan
Ok so now that Sasuke has this idea, this plan, the only thing left to do is to bring that plan to life. Obviously Sasuke had no original plan to meet the sage of the 6paths and get these godly new powers, and neither did he plan to be fighting against Kaguya. I think originally his plan was to use the shinobi alliance to defeat the enemies and once that was done use his power to turn on Naruto, gain control/destroy the tailed beasts and overthrow the current Kage. However, I think once he met Hagoramo he revised his plan and made it even better.
The revised plan
From here, Sasuke got this new god-like power from the Sage of the 6 paths himself. From here apart of his plan was to defeat Kaguya however, he wanted to defeat Kaguya without wasting unnecessary chakra, and showing too much of his new abilities to Naruto becase Naruto is the final obstacle he has to defeat in order for his "Revolution" to begin. In this chapter he says something along the lines of getting used to his Rinnegan or testing it out. So when Sasuke uses the Chibaku Tensei using the tailed beasts as the core and catches all of them in a genjutsu with a glance, those are abilities he was aware about and was saving for this very moment and didn't want to use against Kaguya. Now to fulfill his plan, he needs to kill Naruto because Naruto's beliefs collide with his and is possibly the only person who can threaten his plan to come true..
I personally always thought Sasuke was an intelligent individual and was always the type of person to do whatever it takes to fulfill his goals weather it be good or bad. Sasuke doesn't care about anyone or anything that won't help him reach his goal and that's evident with what he's trying to do right now.
-And that concludes my "theory" or "analysis" or whatever you wanna call it. Uh tell me what you think good or bad. Thanks for reading regardless.
