Smoke is smoke, it is gaseous in nature although its thickness is unlike that of most gases. Grey/Black in colour it is most commonly produce by creating flames and allowing them to produce smoke as they burn away whatever was used as the base for the fire. As an element in the Narutoverse smoke release is the ability to create/manipulate and even become smoke at will, users can increase its density in order to give it what verges on physical mass, making it incredibly hard to move through and even makes it capable of binding. Its most common use would be as a diversion tactic, creating smokescreens in order to block of sight lanes and set up sneak attacks, trapping an opponent inside a thick xmokescreen would not only impair the ability to see, but also there abilities to smell, hear and even breath, it fits into my fighting style perfectly as a user of swift release and one who loves to perform 'assaults on the senses' and sneak attacks, I perform on this sight much like a ninja in life, trying to catcfh people off guard with decoys and falsity before striking from the smoke.
It's strengths lie when placed against fire as it overcomes the flames and can put them out altogether
Wind however, is capable of blowing smoke away (Of course depending on the size of the wind used against the size of the smoke screen in its path.

Good, though Smoke is more of a non-elemental Ninjutsu. Bar that though, you're right. Smoke is useful as it allows for good distraction coupled with an offensive capability. The thing about Smoke to remember is that it can be "contained" in a sense, so both Earth can be used for this and Wind for blowing it away. It douses out Fire as you stated.
Anyway, we'll continue with analysis style, I'll talk a bit about the technique that I want you to perform the technique and elaborate on it. Quite simple, yeah?

So I release a smokescreen from my palms which begins to take the form of a human, eventually being revealed to be myself. The clone stands strong in it's place ready to disperse at a moments notice and revert back to smoke form.
It's your standard elemental clone technique, although slightly more helpful. Much like a water clone, a clone made of smoke not only acts as a tool during it's life, but also after that. Both can be used once destroyed in order to supplement its user in the user of follow up techniques by creating a source from which to do so... A technique similar to this one will form the basis of my whole fighting style and so having this as the first technique we learn is extremely exciting.

Great job, let's move on.
A technique where you will manipulate your Smoke based chakra, and cause the smoke to wrap around the opponent. I believe this technique leaves for some freedom, where you can decide how to trap the opponent, and prevent them from moving in general. Pretty useful technique.

I Release a kind of physical smoke from my body and shape manipulate it in order to trap my opponent within its grasp.
I see this as being super handy. I can imagine using it during a close quarters battle in order to catch a punch or trap a leg at a vital moment in order to give myself an advantage and land something that might otherwise be blocked.
Also, would trapping an opponent fully within this smoke still have the same effects as a gaseous smoke state? So not only prohibiting movement but also breathing and things of the like as well?

Now, a simple technique where you will unleash small dark bombs from your palms, which releases thick smoke from them. This creates a veil, or a smokescreen, which suffocates the opponent. Another cool one.

The only real practical use of smoke in real life military scenarios... The smoke grenade.
I launch plentiful small dark bombs from my hands, these bombs begin to produce smoke, the smoke produced spreads massively and becomes a large smokescreen both choking and limiting the visibility of the area.
I have a couple Q's.
Can I rig these bombs to detonate on impact or on a timer etc. So have numerous bombs launch, some which detonate instantly and some which don't?
Do I as a smoke user get any kind of immunity or tolerance to it's choking effects if inside a gas cloud?
Then, is smoke released in this manor chakra infused? Would it disrupt a sharingan?

Okay, I don't like this as much as I did on my first read-through. I was hoping it'd grant a little more freedom that just creating 5 clones from one. It is still useful in that it produces a threat that my opponent would be unready to deal with, but merely having the clone disperse into a larger source of smoke from which I can choose what to create would have been nicer. Obviously though, the element of surprise and a gang of clones at your disposal could cause any opponent great problems should you be clever enough to follow up.

Manipulate your smoke to wrap around the opponent, aiming to restrict them. A very simple technique, and easy to use once there is already a lot of smoke around the opponent from either other techniques, or a simple smoke bomb. Your chakra is focused into the smoke and manipulated. Pretty cool.
