I think I am the senpai here, not you.

So Ino, you can use three elements in a battle.
Thats the maximum.
You will be taught 5
But only 3 per battle.
YOu can change the ones you use at the beginning of each fight.

Defensive:
I like the defense part of lightning a lot.
But as you may have seen already, its weak to wind.
Raiton Raigeki no yoroi(Lightning strike armor)
The same as the other aura changing jutsu, it defends itself to earth techniques. Also capable of defending against multiple direction earth jutsu.
Raiton Seiteki Korekuto no jutsu(Static collection skill)
A strange one again
I use it like this.
I use it at start of the fight for example.
Nothing happens.
But when the opponent tries to attack me with taijutsu, then I say I used it, because this jutsu, focuses lightning chakra on the place where the opponent is striking.
It also paralyzes the limb, the opponent used the strike
This was a hard one.

would it be a good idea not to use lightning and water together because i can end up hurting myself?
You can do that.
But you have to be carefull.
Because if you use a water armor.
And some time later
A lightning armor.
Well, you know what happens then..
But theres no problem if you use offensive water jutsu, and then lightning armor or offensive lightning.
Just this:
NO defensive lightning and water jutsu.
After 3 posts or something, it will be safe to use lightning.
But you have to be carefull.
Because if you use a water armor.
And some time later
A lightning armor.
Well, you know what happens then..

Ino, i might take a break now.
Since you are fully ready to fight, I mean you have three elements.
The next thing you will recieve is a lightning mission
And after that
A mission wich involves all the three elements you know now.
And thats not so easy.
There might be ten situations instead of five.

Now the only thing I have to do is get your co-aprentice to pass the wind mission, teach him lightning, and the three elements mission.
After that
I have another apprentice.
I will have to start with water with her, but since you two are ready for real fights, that wont be a problem.
