Yes, it make stronger link why he respect Itachi and help Sasuke during death period. However now he not interested with Sasuke just Sarada. Make more sense why he confront both Sasuke and Naruto because he wish is to fight them, something must in his disposal while confident to fight both.

What you're saying especially sarada makes no sense when Kabuto wanted to go back to the orphan. Sasuke even spoke about someone more scarier and poses more threat than Kaguya which mean it's defiantly not kabuto. It has to be someone who was around during Kaguya era
