A genjutsu cast apon the entire world? I doubt it . I believe that the 10 tails was originally divided into two Hagoromo and his brother split it. and Hagoromo split it into 9. Half of the Juubi had been revived by Madara, well what about the other half? It was said that the moon was the shell/body of the juubi. But that's impossible right because the Gedo Mazu is the shell. What if they both are the shell. the gedo mazu was the shell of Hagoromo's half and the moon is the shell of his brother's half. Now where am I going with this?
Imagine this One man on one side of the world has a key and a man on the other side of the world has a lock chest of unknown wonderes. The key only opens that lock. with out the key there is nothing. Well the juubi is the key and now that madara has the 3rd eye and is the complete juubi jinchuriki of hagoromos beast and is activating the moon what if its activating the other half? Madar is full of all 9 demons chakra plus kaguya, Well that chakcra will activate The moon the other half of the juubi Madara will absorb it and will be over taken by the true form of the god tree and the god tree will open up to either reveal Kaguya herself or Hagoromos brother who was sealed with the demon
Because I believe that hagoromo and his brother banded together to save the world the one time but still were enemie
