INFILTRATION — CHAPTER 1, PART 2

Far from Konoha, amid a rocky wilderness, two shinobi were walking down the side of a mountain. A plump brown haired boy, carrying on his back a huge backpack filled with all sorts of equipment, from tents to a cage with an eagle inside, and a slender, blonde girl, carrying only a rich bouquet of flowers.

- How could they refuse the Tulips? - Ino said, with bitterness in the eyes.

- Ah, but the excuse is convincing. "How flowers will survive here?" Said Chouji in an attempt of reconciliation.

- This is obvious! I'm not complaining about that excuse, but the way they said. "Mountain ninjas do not need flowers! They do not survive!" Ino said still mocking bitterly about the attitude of their hosts.

- Yeah... it was more or less the same as they said. - Chouji admitted, lowering his head to see his own feet sinking into the sand, one by one, as they return to Konoha. - But also, they were too busy to give us attention. Did you see that guy? Kebab...

- Killer Bee! - Ino interrupts with a disapproving tone, but her expression soon changes to concern - Did you see how strong he is? He was fighting on equal terms with the Raikage...

- Yeah. He is not the type of person you or I could manage. And the worst is that I think what we saw was nothing more than a mild brothers fight...

- Brothers? Those monsters are brothers? - Ino asks, stopping suddenly to walk. Her eyes showed panic.

-Yes. While they fought I heard a comment from one of the ninjas there. It seems that such Kebab really wanted to do something that his brother don't approve. And they said, Raikage's temper is not the best, and it is normal to they go by the strength when they disagree with something. - Chouji stopped walking a little after Ino. He was more ahead, looking worried at the horizon. - These are the kind of enemies we'd hate. - He stops walking, returns to Ino and makes a gesture with his arms, offering to carry her flowers.

- What kind of thing would make siblings fight? - Ino handed the flowers, and when she realized what she had just spoken, she stops, frozen, as if her mind was far away.

-What? - Questions Chouji, already imagining what she thought.

- Nothing. I only remembered Sakura's last mission...

- Ah. Just as well, then it is normal, is only thinking of Sakura as always, after all-

- It's not about Sakura who I think. - Interrupts Ino. Her worried garb became more rigid, and again she lifted her head to see the horizon in the direction of Konoha. - She said that Sasuke finally killed his brother Itachi. But neither was found. In the place where they fought only rubble remained. I wonder what happened to Sasuke. - And Chouji changes from worried to frustrate, and said gruffly:

- You should not think about him. I almost died because of him, but apparently he got lost and did not want to come back to us. It would all be easier if we all gave up...

- Do not say that! - Ino says, but realizes that it was better to have let him continue what he said. His face was a mixture of sadness and anger. Both remained silent for a not realized time, but the silence was broken with Ino regaining her duty responsibly. - We have to communicate now, not it? The plan was to send a message to Neji as soon as we got out of Kumogakure, at least that's what was written in Tsunade-sama's message.

- Good! - Chouji was relieved of the weight he carried, carefully placing all their equipment on the ground. He took the eagle in the cage, and began to prepare the device attached to the jaws of the animal, which would hold the message - If the Hokage says, is an order then. What should we write?

- We won't write. - Saying this Ino realizes that her companion did not understand her intention, then she makes a brief signal with her hands, that Chouji knew long ago.

- Shintenshin no Jutsu? But why do this now? We will not spy on ... - Although he knew the jutsu, Chouji still not perceived clearly the reason to using it. Ino lower her head and patiently explained the plan to her friend.

- No bird will find Neji's team alone. They are moving very cautiously, totally covering their chakra. Neji himself will take care of these details using the Byakugan. I know what are meeting points, so I'll fly up and deliver the message. We can not risk that Kumogakure intercepts the message along the way and discover our intentions. That's why I fly without any message, and figure out a way to inform the team when I find them. - Ino ends her explanation squandering a pompous pose. Still wrapped in her pride, she returns to the position of her jutsu. - Are you ready?

- Wait! You're telling me now, aside all the baggage and the bouquet of flowers... I'll have to carry you? - Chouji asks indignantly.

- It was you who wanted to carry the flowers!

- So I'll leave them here!

- If you leave them here I won't prepare any banquet when we arrive!

- Banquet...? - Chouji said with watery eyes.

- Maybe ... Ninpou, Shintenshin no Jutsu! - Ino didn't give Chouji a chance to answer to anything else, as soon as she said the name of the Jutsu her body fainted in the arms of Chouji. The surprise made he release the eagle, and she immediately launched into flight through the sky. In Chouji's mind only a picture formed now, a huge table filled with food. Then he caught the bouquet of flowers and violently shoved it into the cage where the eagle was before "She said I can not leave them here, not that they must come back whole ...", then he put the cage in huge equipment bag and put she on his back. Gripped Ino's limp body, and departed again on a trip to Konoha. - "Only two days' journey" - he thought.

Already far from there, while flying, Ino could see beyond the horizon she saw when she was on the ground. She could see the base of the mountain, where there was no more clouds and a small sandy soil formed. A little further ahead had initiated the forest, dense and long, the way to Konoha. Looking eastward she still could see a pointy mountain chain which extended above the clouds. The area seemed very bleak, but some cabins were captured along these mountains by the voracious eyes of the eagle. Ino thought that those should be checkpoints, but some of them looked more like temples.

.......

Neji's team was one of the fastest in Konoha. Full of energy, it was likely to arrive in Kumogakure in a day and a half, maybe a little less. Leaping from branch to branch in high speed, taking care not to break any or make leaves fall. While leaping they were surrounded by huge Fuuma Shurikens, attached to chains from Tenten's hand. The Shurikens had the function of dispersing their odors with their air rotation. So it would be possible to pick up their scent, but could not track them with it. Neji was all the time with his Byakugan active, looking for any sign of danger, and Lee, fast and energetic, was jumping in a more open area between the tree branches, covering a greater extent while moving.

So in an almost silent signal the jumps stop, the shurikens disappear, and three shinobi lurk in the shadows of the trees. Returning to the place where they left off the jumps, there was nothing but more trees and branches full of leaves intact. Down at ground level also nobody could see where the shinobi were. But in a tree at its base, well hidden - so that you couldn't see unless you were looking for it - a fissure opened, naturally, as if the tree had been born with roots cut in half. Inside the crack there was a hole that has been carefully covered with grass. Down through this hole there's a subterranean cave, filled with groundwater that reflected on all the walls with the low light coming through cracks in the 'roof'. Three shinobi waited in this underground chamber, walking above the water with chakra.

- How long we'll wait? - Lee asks anxiously.

- Until Ino and Chouji's message arrive. - Answers Neji, positioning himself in meditation position.

- In other words, spend more chakra standing still? - Lee asks impatiently.

- No. We'll wait the message in silence because we do not want to be tracked, and meanwhile we have nothing to discuss. Think of it as a training, you have not learned so well to manipulate the chakra to walk on water too long. - Neji said with a slightly challenging and triumphant look.

- Oh really? I have the strength of youth! My only limit is the sky, which has no limit! So know that with effort I win any challenge, even standing on top of the water. You know what? - Lee repeated, energetic and inspired - I'll do better than that! While you sit back and relax I'll train for real! The real challenge for a man! - When finished saying that, Lee got up, ran to one of the rock walls and tore some pieces of stone embedded in it. Holding them firmly on his shoulders, began running in circles through the cave.

-Lee?! - Tenten tried to stop Lee, but was interrupted by Neji.

- Let him. If it makes him happy... In fact, it will not draw the attention of anyone out there. I checked the thickness of the rocks that separate us from the surface and they are thick enough to cover the sound. Get some rest.

-Neji... - Tenten looked at him with a worried expression. In a slight gesture she approached him to speak low. - It must be hard for you not? I mean, your fa-

Tenten stopped when she heard the shrill whistle of the eagle approaching...
