So if Indra had a son or daughter, and after Indra died that child had a child would the grandson be the new Indra? So that would mean Indra's son gave birth to his father, right?

not really give birth to his father. there's a theory in here that its better to call them possessing instead of reincarnating. and if we use that theory, then he didnt

yeah... :) feels awkward! But thats hw it happens right? You should refer rebirth concept in BUDDHISM if u are intrested,it will give u an idea!

Pretty much, but Indra's reincarnate could've been born outside the Uchiha clan, like in the Hyuugas

Not necessarily, the way reincarnations in naruto work is that:

Ashura/Indra choose someone worthy to give their chakra too.

That seems to be it.... Naruto is ashura'a reincarnation but all that means is that ashura is giving naruto chakra.

That's probably why Hashirama had so much chakra--

It never said they were in the same bloodline every time they reincarnated.
