Indra's bad and ashura good. how?

in indian mythology "indra" was a god and "ashura" means demon..... But in naruto its opposite..... kishi must have read the mythology wrong....

To be honest, I don't know. Maybe he meant it in the way that Indra was the favored child and the all-amazing prodigy while Ashura was the dolt who couldn't get anything right, becoming an obnoxious renegade.

no one is really evil in this manga...everyone does what they think is a better way to achieving peace, some are not afraid to shed blood doing it and some are bothered by whom they have to step over to achieve that peace... i view the manga as a battle of ideologies rather than a battle of good vs evil

Well in hinduism it is that indra was a god and ashuras are demon who are in constant battle. But let's be honest here,Indra even in the mythology was a douche in all aspect~prideful,powerhungry,jealous,self-centered,and trouble maker and most never won a damn battle and always lost or draw with the ashuras.

On the other hand,ashuras are demon,demon is described as a race,not evil in the mythology. Sure some are but not all,for eg. ~ Vibheshan, Prahalath,etc. They were all good. And more-over they always fought in unity unlike devas,or Indra. And as a matter of fact they always won or draw the battles.

See,he didn't went wrong. It's just that he sees it differently. And even in buddhism devas and ashuras are described as gray shaders like in hinduism.

Oh really? Indra tried to kill his brother. Not even once out of anger but repeatedly. His hatred was so strong it carried on to his descendants. Think about it. How bad will your brother have to be for you to want to kill him.
