It was shown in the chapter where Obito was talking to Kakashi, Yamato and Naruto (around the same time Sasuke was fighting the Raikage).

I suppose it's fine to consider this pattern legit. Nothing to really contradict it, but it would have been nice if Kishi drew it again when he properly showcased Indra.

It's like a diluted Rinnegan. I think he had 6 MS abililities that derive from Hagoromo's 6 Paths with Amaterasu originating from Naraka Path and Susanoo being derived from Outer Path.
