Indra and Ashura

The sage said he left power to only one son, Ashura. & it was said that after a long time and hard training and the help of other Ashura awoke the same power that was in his brother. So wouldn't Indra be naturally stronger since the sage left Ashura his power?

Power as in leadership. He took Ashura's ideology over Indra's and he revolted because of this. With Naruto and Sasuke he asked them honestly what they wanted and picked both of them, even when Sasuke wanted to pull a Itachi and murder the 5 kage.

He doesn't necessarily talk about giving his chakra to Naruto/Sasuke. Power can come from many things. We all know how weak the feudal lords are but their position gives them power. And if Hago did in fact give his real power to Ashura, only to tie Indra, then that would be really messed up in terms of clan power.

Yup he was. Evidently awakening the same power as Indra didn't make them equals or for some odd reason ashura didn't finish Indra off until they both died.

In terms of chakra/jutsu, Hagoromo never gave Ashura power. Hagoromo told us exactly how Ashura gained power, and it was through his bodily chakra awakening. Indra was always born stronger.

It was the same with Naruto/Sasuke... Naruto didn't gain a power rivaling Sasuke's until others helped him learn Senjutsu and master his Bijuu chakra. Then he gained even more power from the other Bijuu. It's too bad we can't really analyze Naruto's "Bodily Chakra" relative to Sasuke's, without Kurama in the picture. However, Naruto + Kurama have a pretty ridiculous Sage Mode, together.
