Yep, that might be a problem, you should probably contact a mod, or you could do what @Science said so we could see what the issue is

you might have those 250 + with those 13 the 250 messages.

didn't you created a folder to keep certain messages? or are you only seeing in one "folder"?

Your internet browser Cache and cookies - Firefox or Chrome or whatever you are using. Hit on delete history and delete everything. If it still doesn't work change it. Use Chrome if using Firefox or vice versa. Or try some other browser like Safari to test it out.

Check the sent message, they count with the inbox.
