i think in the whole gaiden all naruto did in fights was 'attempting' to fight. even in the final fight, he just practically glared at Shin and made him shit in his pants and wallah~ all shins bowed down on him.
naruto saved the day again, only this time without a fight.

imo, kishi purposely did that so he make sasuke and his family shine in the fights.. but still at the end naruto was the one who saves the day. and kishi hid his current powers for boruto movie too
