He may have made Sasuke a rouge ninja, but without Itachi, there wouldn't be an Orochimaru revival, which means no Edo Hokages, which means no new resolution for Sasuke and it also means that the Allied Shinobi Force would be ****ed.
If Itachi had told Sausage the truth from the beginning, the coup might've ended and Sausage would've still been good, but he would've simply worked for the Uchiha Police Force- his initial dream.

However, because of the immaculate, flawless, debonair Solo King, Sausage wants to become Hokage, which would SUCK. :|
