In the end I don't believe anybody truly hates the Boruto Manga or Anime

Let's face it everyone at one point grew interest, got hyped, or got a little curious with something that happened related to the Boruto manga or anime but are still quick to it call "trash" for whatever reason, why is that?

It's like still being involved with an ex but telling the homies she's a thot
So just be real with yourself and admit you like this series

I've never sat down and read/watched any content involving Boruto bar the short scene in "The Last," chapter 700 and the Scarlet Spring. The character made me cringe so I chose not to torture myself with his nonsense. I hear its pretty bad, so I guess I made a good decision.

As someone who read Bleach start to finish, I gotta say that it's totally feasible to display some interest in a trash series.

People are constantly comparing Boruto to Naruto and that's what makes them hate the series. There are many similarities, but it's still a completely different series. Boruto has been around for like 2 years, while Naruto was a part of everyone on NB's lives for more than a decade. I know that Naruto is much better than Boruto as it is, but there's still hope for it. I think they should start out by making it a weekly manga. I barely remember what happened in the last chapter while I'm waiting for the next, that kind of thing kills the hype. Then we've got Kara a.k.a. Akatsuki V2 and Kawaki, who could turn out to be a really good character, we'll see. I will be highly disappointed if we get two parts of the anime/manga and the first part ends with Boruto vs Kawaki. That would make the second part all about Kara and the destruction of the shinobi world, which would pretty much be the same plot as Naruto. We need something unique, something new that we haven't seen until now. So make it a weekly release, give us unique content that doesn't have that much similarities to the original manga, don't try to copy the plot that we already know and it should be fine, it would attract readers' interest once more.

People hate it because they had high expectations of it, having read Naruto they expected the new series to improve on it. Kodachi and Ikemoto both Kishi's underlings had more than enough time to understand his style and continue it. People expected them to add their own insights on top of that and with hindsight improve on Kishi's major letdowns.

They expected development of other characters especially female characters, back to the ninja roots, away from unlimited chakra and ass pulls etc. Instead kodachi and Ike went and completely trashed it, focusing on one character, turning everybody into his cheerleader, making the new protagonist the son of the previous etc, making his goal not wanting to become kage (Naruto) but still wanting to become kage (Sasuke). Giving him ass pull power ups for the heck of it, labelling him a prodigy to cover up for the bad writing, unlimited chakra and unrivalled plot armour etc.

Yeah, high expectations of something can make you hate something. If they're still interested in it after all that then they have hope it may get better. However if the last few chapters are anything to go by then they've shown how something can become progressively worse.
