I have re-read volume 40 through 71, and in hindsight i think Nagato was clearly the best villain of the series.
Also i think that he's the strongest character after JJ Madara, Naruto & Sasuke.
When the Jiraiya/Pain/Naruto-Sage Arc ended the series also ended in my eyes.

After the re-read i also easily see how forced the manga was after the Pain arc. It seems like Kishimoto had a great plan up until that moment in the manga, then just lost the plot with the Edo arc.

Those are my thoughts at least.

Pein was a great villian however I don't think I've seen a better villian than Madara and to an even further extent Zetsu.

It makes perfect sense. Joker. Iconic villain respected by all. One of the greatest villians of all time. What's his movitve? Not a damn thing.

No it doesn't, the joker wanted chaos, he was an anarchist, that was his motive. Do you even read the batman comics? You sound like a very naive person.

I agree. Coming from someone who has read a majority of Batman.

Yeah, he was developed over a long span of time, had plenty of character and profile. He wasn't a cliche bad-guy. Thats why i think he was a better villain then Madara. Madara was smart, strong but just too cliche. And as far as Obito goes, he was just sad, a villain driven by puppy-love...
