In Defence of Hinata Hyuuga

Most complaints (which originate from Sakura and Sasuke fans), go like this. Naruto-kun spam, and being centered around Naruto.


For the first reason, I mean, wow. I feel sorry for you if you hate Hinata for that reason. That's a method of addressing someone. I can't think of a more childish reason to dislike a character.


As for the second, this is more understandable. However, that doesn't make it bad. It'd be bad if Hinata was dependent on Naruto, but given she snapped Naruto out of nearly giving up, she isn't. She's someone who was influenced by Naruto, but can stand on her own.


I think we all know the real reason why she's hated is because she ended up with Naruto, and some people can't stand the characters that have love as their motivation because it's not "badass."

Struggle: She thought she was a failure, but watched how Naruto kept struggling even though he was useless. She changed and drastically improved her self
Development: Every chapter she was shown, Naruto was involved, so yeah blame Kishimoto. Even though she had only 100 chapters in the entire manga, she had a more progressive story even though it involved Naruto.

The fact is, Sakura has nothing interesting about her character that does not exist outside of Sasuke. She lives, breathes, and dies for Sasuke. Even when Sasuke was not a part of the story anymore, she thought about Sasuke. Yeah, Hinata is the same, so where do you go and justify that her character is not equally as trashed? Must we remind the War arc scene: "Naruto-kun's hand is so big"
or Sakura's:

- People are dying
- She should be focusing on healing the wounded
- She's talking about her feelings during a war

Her backstory was never heard of in Part 2.It was just a means to an end to set her up to be Naruto's wife.Shikamaru got a near arc for himself.Thats what I wanted for Hinata.

And yet she never really won a true fight did she.Just some zetsu clone with the help of Neji.WHere was she for instance when her sqaud was fighting Pain?Heck Konohamaru got a shot at Pain
At least Sakura won one fight with the main villain with someone's help.

Ok, but Lee's all about being a taijutsu master and beating his rival Neji. No one complains about him. Ten Ten is all about tools and having Guy and Lee be gentlemen. No one complains about her. ect. ect.


Agreed about wankers, but that's subjective. I'd imagine some of what you consider wanking is actually the truth since Hinata's absurdly underrated by NB members. Check out the Shikimaru VS Hinata thread and how weak the arguments were. It shows that no one actually thinks about Hinata's capabilities and just says she looses.

True, Kabuto also adds kun to sasuke and naruto's name always yet I have never seen anyone complain about it.

Who tries to deny it? I don't. I alreadly know that Hinata's character revolve around Naruto's, but even though that fact is completely true. At least she tried to better herself as a woman. She never pleaded after Naruto, she never made Naruto worse as a character, and she NEVER forced herself to make him change.

Hinata, even though pairing fodder like Sakura, has done more good to Naruto's character than Sakura did. If that is not an achievement for Side characters, I don't know what is.
