Which was a bit of a joke and i mainly meant anime<manga for me.I All i said was what is canon is irrelevant to me because i prefer the anime to the manga. But you can cherry pick as much as you like, your use to it.

Really is too bad Kishimoto scrapped the Hyuuga subplot for whatever reason. Had potential to make Hinata relevant to something other than Naruto. Just one more thing to put on the long laundry list of this series storytelling failures.

True, there was so much missed chances or rather, should I say, deliberately avoided chances to give the clan [or Neji and Hinata] development.

Hiashi & Hanabi are out of the village when Pain attacks ? Never mentioned where they went.

Ao has Byakugan ? Danzo deals w/ it.

Hyuga-cloud issue ? Gets addressed as on off-hand comment by Yamato [of all people]

Edo Hizashi ? Gets off paneled and never meets his son

Hinata & Neji's contribution to the war ? Fighting zetsus and no edo summons.

Hyuga trio protecting Naruto ? Less than half a chapter of literally no new abilities.

Neji dying ? Even less so panel time than above. Worst off, no flashbacks or buildup to said death.

Konoha founding ? No mention of the Hyuga whatsoever, yet the Shimura clan is mentioned

Kaguya has Byakugan ? No Hyuga character involvement nor any explanation as to what the Byakugan even is.

Even w/ Bolt and Himawari, Kishi doesn't give them Byakugan. It would seem he chose this root simply because he doesn't want them to be associated w/ the Hyuga Clan System nor does he want to deal w/ the whole subplot of which one would be the heir and which one would get a curse seal.

Hell, I can almost guarantee you this desire to steer away from giving the Hyuga clan development may even lead to Hanabi being branded the Hyuga Leader, when both Neji and Hinata were/are far more deserving of sucha role [assumign he even bothers to adress this long-ignored subplot in the Mini Series].

Speaking of which, Naruto never even deal w/ the so-called promise he made to Neji about changing the Hyuga clan. As far as we know, they still brand their members w/ seals .

Honestly, this is way I LOVE the anime so much, because it actually gives this clan and it's caste system development rather than ignoring it like Kishi does.

I actually I don't want everyone to like her. I said I was going to debunk baseless theories / criticisms I have heard lingering around.

As for the actual manga portal of Hinata or any other character for that matter, It's all subjective and vastly open to interpretation. But people shouldn't fabricate nonsense and use it to bash a particular character.

Please, the Naruto and Hinata love story is very realistic. There was this guy I liked who liked another girl. And I would find my eyes constantly straying to him everytime we were in the same vincinity. Put that type of scenario in a world where people can blow fire out there mouths that's what you call Hinata's "stalking".

How does your post even make Hinata look any better anyway? She is simply one-dimensional pairing material with absolutely no personal character, ambitions, regard of anyone around her, or any purpose in the manga except existing for no reason for 19 years just to take the place as the MC's wife and appease to the pairing tards and horny teenagers with a boob fetish. Nothing you say can change that, it's an established by 700 chapters fact. The only one who has the power to change it is Kishimoto, and that can only be done by rewriting her character completely.

To be fair, there is no single female character that we can all say has had proper and just development throughout the manga.

The only part I disagree with is this. I believe that Chiyo, Konan and Tsunade has all had well rounded development in the manga, but yes, I do agree with your overall point.

My wife (back then girlfriend) fell already for hinata's mature and kind character. I started to like her since pain arc. Guess most of the reader liking her did so too. Though i do agree with some, that her purpose is mainly for pairing, but her quality of a woman worth to be love of naruto's life has been quiet well shown through her actions, words and background story. She proved her love is pure and true, since no one recognized naruto. She was the girl recognising naruto's strength when he was a zero for everyone. Hinata truly has strength on her own way.

Out of topic, I used to dislike sakura's character. But in the last movie, she has developed much, become more mature and could well control her short temper. She didn't hit naruto at least. I know it's for humor purpose, but don't find it funny at all over the time. I find her actually nice as character in the last. I was impressed by her deep love towards sasuke. Many other girls would have jumped to the opportunity to switch her heart from sasuke (girl's fav to temporary villain) to naruto (the zero to hero). But she remained true to her feelings and used it as strength to develop and purpose to bring him back and to save him. Both girls, hinata and sakura have an admireable sense of love.

I've read somewhere that he actually didn't intend to explain the naruhina development in a movie, it was suggested by his editors or sp. so he wa made chief storyline supervisor (or something similiar). maybe it was suggested as damage control towards the other fandoms' (ehem ehem ahaha you know which one xD )

Great thread overall, Hinata doesn't seem to be THAT obsessed with Naruto than what most people think. If only people can be open minded the fact that Hinata does show concern for the others and when Neji died, Hinata words of wisdom were basically on behalf for Neji.

What the hell can you guys expect Hinata to do if she never snapped Naruto??? Do you guys imply that she should just keep mourning and crying over Neji like a helpless b!tch while allowing Naruto to fall into the darkness which everything what Neji stood for were for Nothing?? Remember Ninja arn't suppose to unleash their emotion and this was stated way back in Part 1 when Sakura was mourning over Sasuke after Haku nearly killed him.

Anyway even though I hate the fact that Neji death was a plotdevice for NaruHina, that doesn't make Hinata a bad character when she had some great backstory and developed to be a strong Kunoichi and some relation aspect with Naruto. It has been shown that Naruto always treated her nicely whenever they encountered plus Hinata is very likable mainly because she shows compassion to the others and she has been improved when developed new skills and better feat to the point where she surpassed Neji in some criteria. Naruto shows compassion for Hinata for instance she fought against Neji. Naruto was even completely flipped when Pain almost kill Hinata.

This entails that Hinata is following Naruto nindo way not because she's a fangirl but Hinata mainly had the same experience with Naruto to whom she had to suffer with her family ritual, and they treated her like shit. Naruto gives her inspirational to never give up that's why she loved him so what's wrong when addressing Naruto-kun??

The main fault lies to Kishi who barely gives NaruHina development and it have been onesided while skimming throughout the majority of Part 2 to get to this point when Neji died and this was horribly executed. There're many opportunities way to deliver the relationship with Naruto & Hinata and Neji where Kishi could've give more indepth for the bond and more panels earlier in the series so we don't have to deal with the stupid Asspull and Plot device.


Thus that's why I'm not really a fan with NH especially Pairing in genreal, and I can uderstand some people frustration.
