Naruto stared at Hinata and waited for the other to speak. When Hinata didn’t respond at all, Naruto started to get annoyed.
“Hinata, what is it?” Naruto irritably asked. “Is there really something you want to tell me?”
Hinata startled as she heard Naruto’s impatient tone. She looked at the ground and forced herself to talk before Naruto could leave her. She’s not even aware she is pointing her two index fingers together. “Na…Naruto kun, I…”
“What?!” Naruto asked. He kept his posture but he is running out of patience.
Hinata sighed. Her face looked so miserable. She still doesn’t have the confidence to tell Naruto about her feelings. /No, I’m not yet ready/
“Hinata, you’re wasting my time, I’ll leave now.” Naruto said. He Decided to leave since Hinata kept him waiting.
“Wait, Naruto-kun!” Hinata immediately respond. She doesn’t want Naruto to get upset because of her timid attitude.
“N-Naruto kun...can I join you later when you go to the festival?”
It took sometime before Naruto finally speak.
“Are you sure?” Naruto didn’t anticipate Hinata wanted him to go with her to the festival.
“Y-yes…” Hinata answered. Like Naruto, Hinata was surprised to her own words though deep inside, she also wanted to go to the festival with Naruto.
Hinata smiled at the boy at her front.
/Right, I’ll tell Naruto-kun later if he will allow me to go with him/
Now Hinata came up with something as an excuse to delay her confession. It was a great plan.
“Are you sure? I just didn't think you would ask that. No one will go with you? How about Shino or Kiba?”” Naruto anxiously post a question.
“I’m not sure if they’ll come. Y-you don’t want me to go with you?” Hinata answered with another question.
Hinata didn’t think about that. Of course, she should expect Sakura and Sai will accompany Naruto to the festival.
“S-sorry I asked. If you don’t want me to come with you it’s okay. I’ll take my leave now.” Hinata turn around and departed. She didn’t even wait for Naruto’s response. The poor kunoichi ran away wretchedly.
Of course Naruto wanted her to join the fun but she shouldn’t expect Naruto will accompany her. Naruto will choose Sakura instead of her.
“Hey Hinata!” Naruto yelled. He gazed at Hinata until he could no longer see her. Naruto noticed Hinata’s odd behaviour after their mission. “What’s with her?” Naruto hissed.
“Naruto!” Naruto heard a woman’s voice shouted his name. His mind suddenly diverted to find the person who called him.
“Sakura chan!” Naruto ran toward his team mate cheerfully.
“Did you just arrive from your mission?” Sakura asked.
“Yeah, a while ago.” Naruto beamed at Sakura. "Hey Sakura.."
“Anyway, I’m busy right now. I didn’t expect to see you on my way to Tsunade sama’s office but I’m glad to see you.” Sakura waved her hand and ran away quickly while still looking at her team mate. “Sorry Naruto, we can talk later!”
“Hey wait! Sakura chan!” Naruto intended to follow Sakura but changed his mind. He decided not to interrupt her or he’ll just get a punch from his team mate.
“I’ve always wanted Sakura chan to come with me and celebrate Konoha’s festival. It’s my chance to date her. I think my plan will never work.” Naruto said and sighed heavily.
Naruto looked around. The villagers are still busy preparing for the big event. While staring at the decorations, Naruto recalled Hinata’s odd behaviour. He was also bothered even if he doesn’t admit it. /What should I do?/
The festival has begun. Naruto was ready for the festival. He's wearing a light green traditional Japanese kimono.
As he walked along Konoha’s streets, he is not fully aware where his foot will bring him, his mind still lingering on his major predicament. If he'll do his plan to date Sakura or grant Hinata's request and ask what's troubling her.
Naruto’s eyes widened to see a huge house at his front. “Eh?! This is Hinata’s house! What am I doing here?”
Naruto looked around and noticed that he’s the only one standing in front of Hyuuga’s residence.
“N-Naruto kun?!” Naruto jumped back and slowly look at the person who mentioned his name.
“H-Hinata” Naruto smiled sheepishly.
"N-Naruto kun, I thought you have someone else to accompany you in the festival." Hinata asked. The Hyuuga heir was confused but was beaming with joy on everything that’s happening.
“Well…” Naruto doesn’t even know why he is standing in front of Hinata’s house. He scratched his blond hair and think of an answer on Hinata’s question.
“How long have you been here? I never imagine you’ll come but I wanted thank you.” Hinata lovingly smiled at Naruto.
Naruto did not immediately noticed Hinata’s appearance. His jaw almost dropped as he closely looked at Hinata. She wears white kimono with cherry blossoms pattern. Her long straight black hair was braided and positioned at her right shoulder. Her slim waist and curves are pretty much shown with her kimono. It was the first time Naruto had learned to appreciate the beauty of a female, in a purely aesthetic way, of course. He didn’t expect he will see it through Hinata.
“Hinata…you look different today.” Naruto was stunned at Hinata’s appearance.
