Mira left Hinata lying in the hallway still unconscious from the previous blow to the head. Immediately, she ran towards her room and luckily arrived safely. Mira shut the door and locked it quickly; she turned and closed the curtains and sat on the floor in the corner of her room hoping the kidnappers would never find her.
One of the kidnappers saw the unconscious girl in a white elegant dress and slung her over his right shoulder. Once the girl was secured, he quickly made his escape out of the castle.
Neji had tracked his opponent down and now were standing face to face. Before they could even start their attack, the wall behind the enemy suddenly crumbled throwing the enemy in Neji’s direction at the same time knocking him down.
It was Naruto in sage mode that smashed the wall. “Naruto?” Neji exclaimed. He didn’t expect it’d be Naruto who’ll interrupt their battle.
“Neji!” Naruto shouted. He turned his head in every corner before he approached Neji as if he was looking for someone.
“Where’s the princess?” Neji asked Naruto.
“That woman left me. She didn’t cooperate with our plan.” Naruto explained.
“What?” Neji couldn’t believe Naruto’s words.
“Anyway, I’m sure she’s here somewhere. I can sense her.” Naruto informed Neji since he was in sage mode, he could track the princess.
Neji sighed having no choice in the matter due to Naruto finishing off his opponent. Neji helped Naruto look for the princess hoping they can find her before the kidnappers.
Mean while,
Shikamaru and Shun cornered their enemies when suddenly; the enemy used massive smoke bombs to get away. When the smoke cleared, the kidnappers were nowhere in sight.
“They got away!” Shikamaru yelled in annoyance. He couldn’t believe they failed to capture the kidnappers.
“Shikamaru!” Naruto shouted as Neji followed behind as they ran toward Shikamaru and Shun.
“Where’s the princess?” Shun asked Naruto in a shocking expression.
“She ran away from me! You didn’t convince her to follow the plan!” Naruto explicated.
Shun didn’t wait for Naruto to lecture him more as he started to search for the princess. The brunette searched everywhere in the castle where he might possibly see the princess hiding, followed by Naruto, Shikamaru and Neji. Shun’s feet brought him to the hallway near Mira’s room and he walked towards it. He was about to open the door when someone on the other side of the door opened it. It was a girl in an elegant white gown but she had a pair of byakugan eyes.
“Pri- Hinata?” Shun exclaimed expecting it to be the princess.
“Shun! The kidnappers have taken the princess. I protected her but I failed.” It was the only answer she gave to the brunette.
“So she’s been taken after all.” Shun answered in an upset tone. After all the preparations before the celebration, the kidnappers successfully took their poor princess.
“Don’t worry; we’ll get the princess back. It is our duty after all.” Naruto confidently told Shun.
“You got high hopes. You sure you can do it?” She asked more like an insult.
“Of course we will. As I’ve said, it is our duty after all. We won’t give up until the mission is done.” Naruto told her. Shikamaru and Neji on the other hand glared at the women in front of them. They could tell who was kidnapped and who wasn’t.
The ninjas were now set to rescue the princess. Shun stood in front of them giving his best of luck that the mission will be successful this time. “I wanted to come but I can’t leave Caloria especially now that the princess isn’t here.”
“Sorry, we failed to protect the princess but I promise you, we’ll take her back. We won’t return to Konoha until we can rescue her.” Naruto informed Shun, giving him reassurance that they wouldn’t fail again.
Shun smiled. “I’m glad you had beaten one of them, we were able to get out the information of where the others were taking Princess Mira.” Naruto smiled back, as they headed to the enemy’s base. Shun’s eyes followed them until they’re no longer at sight.
Not long after their travel, they finally reached the enemy’s base. Neji used his byakugan to check the area. “It’s good to be out of the castle, right?” Neji smirked before he asked the only woman in their group while scanning the place.
“Huh?! What do you mean Neji?” She asked.
“Hinata sama calls me Neji ni-san” Neji informed her. “You’re not Hinata you’re the princess.” Neji revealed Mira’s secret.
“I bet you couldn’t even activate your byakugan because you just wore a pair of contact lenses. So you got your own plan that’s why you ran away from Naruto.” Shikamaru added. “It seems Shun didn’t know you well enough either as you fooled him also.”
Mira got ashamed by the fact that they easily exposed her disguise. “If you knew I’m the princess then why didn’t you tell Shun? Why did you let me go with you? I’ll just get in the way.” Mira told them.
“Since your kidnappers are still out there, our mission to protect you isn’t done yet. We still have to keep an eye on you while we rescue our friend. How about you? Hinata was kidnapped instead of you, why do you still have to disguise yourself? Shikamaru asked. It is true that they let Mira joined them so they can still guard the princess and at the same time, they wanted to know the reason why Mira tag along to rescue Hinata.
“I don’t want them to get me but I wanted to know why those people want to abduct me. So I’ve decided to retain my disguise as Hinata so I can go with you. I thought you’d never find out.” Mira honestly told them.
“What? I didn’t even notice she’s not Hinata?” Naruto said in a shocked expression while he turned his head to Shikamaru and Neji.
“You’re the only one who’s not aware of it?” Mira asked Naruto dumb founded. She’s totally annoyed with him the first time she saw Naruto adding to the fact that he wasn’t smart enough to be the leader.
“You’ve know Hinata sama for years but you didn’t know her much or are you just insensitive? Hinata sama always admires you. Remember what princess Mira said to you when we saw her in her room? Hinata would never tell you that.” Neji explained to Naruto.
“I think you’re just dumb!” Mira exclaimed.
“I’m not dumb!” Naruto shouted back. “You tricked me. I won’t let you get away with it!”
“You’re dumb that’s why you fell for my trap and you call yourself the captain!” Mira flared.
Naruto had enough of Mira’s insults. He would able to take it if it was Sakura’s insults. “That’s it, I had enough of you.” Naruto pouted from annoyance “This is our plan.” Naruto said seriously, not noticing his own actions. He was able to get the attention of his group mates easily, shocked by his sudden change of tone. “Before we infiltrate the enemy’s base, we’ll divide our group into 2. Neji and Shikamaru, both of you go to the right side; the princess and I will go to the opposite side. Neji, you can use your byakugan to locate Hinata and Shikamaru will be your support. I’ll use my sage mode to find Hinata as well. I can sense her chakra using my sage mode and you-“ Naruto turned to look at Mira. “You’ll come with me. This time I’ll make sure you’ll stay with me until we rescue Hinata.” Naruto told Mira.
“Are you sure you can protect me while rescuing your friend?” Mira asked irritably.
“I told you, I’d make sure you stayed with me. Whatever happens, we’ll rescue Hinata and you can have your opportunity to know why those people wanted to kidnapped you.” Naruto gave his word to Mira.
“Okay, we’ll leave the princess to you Naruto. I’m sure we’ll see each other inside their hideout” Shikamaru told Naturo before Neji and him left them alone. Shikamaru and Neji looked for an entrance into the hide out without anyone noticing them. “Naruto sure acts like a captain now. I’m not used to seeing him boss me around.” Shikamaru smirked.
“You even agree to let Naruto take the princess with him.” Neji replied back.
“Look who’s talking, you didn’t react when Naruto told us his plan.” Shikamaru shot back.
I know you’re aware that among the 3 of us, Naruto has the highest capability of protecting the princess while rescuing Hinata sama.” Neji told Shikamaru. Shikamaru smirked again indicating that Neji was right on his statement.
Mira couldn’t believe she was left all alone again with Naruto. “Let’s go princess. We’ll take this direction.” Naruto said.
“Why do you have to be the captain? You’re not so smart and you look weak.” Mira asked irritably.
Naruto had his limit, Shikamaru said he has to be patient since he’s the captain but he cannot take anymore-insulting words from the princess. “What is wrong with you? From the first time I saw you, I can’t believe you’re the princess, you’re just a stupid woman!” Naruto shouted.
“What I said about you is true, and don’t call me stupid, you don’t know much about me!” Mira flared, her eyes were watered as she shouted at Naruto. In between sobs, she continued. “I don’t even want to be a princess. People in Caloria smiled at me but they never liked me at all because I’m not capable to lead my village. I’m inexperienced and too young. They call me fragile and feeble. Being guarded by ninjas insulted me more, I felt pathetic that we still had to hire outsiders for our own comfort. My village is weak because their leader is weak!” Mira explained. Naruto remained silent, as he felt sympathetic towards the princess. Behind that arrogance was a completely different woman.
“My plan from the beginning was to switch my place with your friend, Hinata. I got the chance to let your friend get kidnapped instead of me. I disguised myself as Hinata hoping you’ll never find out but I failed and I’d have let the kidnappers do whatever they wanted to your friend. It seems it’s more fun to be a ninja than to be a princess. When I look at Hinata, I can feel her joy and contentment that I never once had. I never had any friends I was always alone. Shun only saw me as a person he had to serve.” Mira said in a distressed tone.
“Don’t say that princess you’re never alone. Shun is there for you because he cares for you. You’re not weak; all you have to do is to prove to your village that you’re capable of being their princess.” Naruto smiled, giving assurance to Mira.
“How can I do that? I’m weak I can’t do anything! I’m not as good as my father when he lead-“ Mira wasn’t able to finish her sentence as Naruto cut her off.
“You don’t have to compare yourself to your father. You’re princess Mira of Caloria, you should make your own path. I was like you before. The people in my village never liked me, they saw me as dirt and they stayed away from me. I worked so hard so they could finally accept me. Finally, the day arrived and I earned trust from my friends and the villagers. People look at me differently now, unlike before. They see me as Naruto Uzumaki of Konoha and they trust me so much that they appointed me as the captain of my group. I’m sure you can also do that princess. Work hard and don’t give up, prove them that you’re capable of that position.” Naruto beamed while he looked at Mira. “My dream is to become a Hokage. A Hokage is the leader of my village. I still work so hard to fulfill that dream. You’re already the leader of your own village, you’re effort is lesser than mine. I’m sure you can do it.” Naruto cheerfully told Mira. His encouragement changed the princess heart.
“Naruto…Thank you so much” Mira smiled lovingly, Naruto was completely different now than the first time she saw him.
“Princess, think carefully on what I said. I’m sure you can do it.”
It was the first time that someone looked at her differently, she always thought she was useless and frail but she felt a need for change after Naruto talked to her. “Naruto, there’s something I wanted to tell you. It was my fault Hinata was kidnapped; I hit her in the head with an iron rod.” Mira confessed.
“What? You did that?!” Naruto couldn’t believe the princess acted so harshly. “Princess, after this, you should apologize to Hinata. Don’t worry, I’m sure she’ll understand you, Hinata is kind.” Naruto informed Mira. Mira nodded in an apologetic way. The princess felt guilty of her own actions since she saw them differently now.
