it have advantages to both side

For Naruto :

1. if he get caught in a genjutsu then kurama will save him. making genjutsu useless against the duo of Naruto & Kurama.

2. increases healing power & chakra.

3. even if Naruto is home alone, he is not cause kurama will always be with him to talk with him.

For Kurama :

1. Uchiha Cant use genjutsu on him to control him & use him as a puppet.

2. They also cant summon him.

3. he can even get a chance to watch nude hinata in future (if u know what i mean)
