I personally like Sakura because she is... ordinary. She wasn't born into the world with gifts, nor pain, she was normal. Sakura didn't get to have the power of the 9 tails. She didn't have bloodline limits. She didn't have massive chakra reserves. But she made it on her own. She strives to be better. I like her strong will, much like Naruto. Sakura focused on what she could do better and tried to help in that way (chakra control and her intelligence). She is realistic to me, on some levels. She isn't a complete optimist, like Naruto, who believes in true peace, with no anger or hatred, which may I mention, is not possible. Sakura is intelligent and understand a lot of things, which may lead to her being so scared and helpless at times. All she needs is a drive to motivate her. Now, I do relate to Sakura, somewhat, but I also disagree on certain decisions she has made. She could have asserted herself more and help Naruto in difficult situations. She also should have killed Sasuke when she had the chance. Though I do imagine that Sakura genuinely loved Sasuke, but I do not understand why.
- Kishi do need to show more of Sakura's progress, being the series's main heroine. She is way out of her teammates' league. I really hope Sakura would get one last spotlight after the whole Yin seal release thing, even though the chances are unlikely. Maybe Tsunade would die and Sakura would go on a rampage? She could also plant Hashirama's DNA into herself. Considering her impressive chakra control, I think she could handle it.
@TheTailedSage: -Sakura punching Naruto is called tough love, I believe.
-I mentioned that she should have killed Sasuke
-Sakura lied to Naruto because she believed it was necessary. Wouldn't you lie to protect your loved ones? She may or may not have "lied" to Naruto either. She could have been telling the truth about her loving Naruto, just a different kind of love.
-Okay so you blame Sakura for her first badass scene? Let's all recap a moment here. Sakura won the fight with Chiyo's help and killed Sasori. Naruto FAILED to kill Deidara WITH Kakashi's help. Naruto acted like he was the only one who cared about Gaara. He lost his head during his chase with Deidara. At least Sakura could keep a cool head and fight a good fight. All Naruto was able to do was yell from afar. Now if Deidara were to go full out on Naruto, like he did with Sasuke, I don't think Naruto would have had the chance to win, even with Kakashi's help. Sasori, however, went full out and failed to win the battle.
- Oh and did I mention? Naruto had all these great power ups and mentors while Sakura was left with Tsunade. I mean she has learned everything she could from Tsunade! She could have had a teacher to teach her about Genjutsu or about Puppet Master ( a thread I posted about a way to enhance Sakura's hitting and dodging ) or about how to do more long ranged ninjutsu. BUT NO! Kishi had to leave Sakura behind with healing and super strength.
