I have a problem with the plot convenience that is Kabuto's Edo Tensei. How could Kabuto have reanimated the specific shinobi that would face off against the allied forces? Take for example Shin. Why would Kabuto collect DNA samples of Shin? Shin wasn't a particularly great warrior. Above average, perhaps, but not as extraordinary as most of the other selections. He serves as an emotional weapon against Sai, sure, but how would Kabuto know at the time of Shin's death that Sai would become important enough of a force to bother collecting and reanimating Shin?
It has been suggested to me that perhaps Orochimaru and later Kabuto went around stockpiling samples of any and all shinobi who were above average in order to create an army for later use. However, between founding the Sound Village, doing unethical research, plotting against Konoha, and other dastardly deeds, when did either of them have the time to collect samples that were so far geographically and temporally distributed?
