The Zetsu body could handle it and as Kabuto said he has the knowledge but the body he had at the time was incapable of withstanding it in the shape it was in. Meaning once he has a healthy body he could access sage mode. We don't need to see a feat of him in sage mode when the manga said he has the requirements and only needs a sturdy body, which we know Oro switches bodies regularly.

How do you know he's never had a body strong enough we've only seen like 3-4 years of his life? Kabuto knew he was able to access it with a healthy body which indicates he's seen it before.

He's found at least two, Kimimaro and Sasuke, but he gave up Kimi for Sasuke and lost Sasuke. And the Zetsu body he has now being part Hashi dna would be able to sustain it.

And Mitsuki being his apparent clone and having what also appears to be a sage mode form is also an indicator of Oro being able to access it with a healthy body.

Isn' t it a sage mode using senjutsu chakra?

Sasuke handled Curse mode which is a form of senjutsu so in a round about way it's a sort of sage mode which is evidence his body would be suited if he studied with the snakes. Nothing's ever said Sasuke's body wouldn't be able to handle sage mode.
