Is computer science a hard field? I'm planning to major in that but is it hard? Will I go bald? Will I have substantial time to date ??

This is not something about Computer Science, but about career choices in general, therefore I apologise for this. Anything you want to excel at will demand the hours. So you must enjoy what you do. You won't be satisfied if you are not giving it your 100%. That will lead to a very high time commitment on your part, irrespective of the field. Thus, it ultimately becomes about work life integration and not work life balance.

People who go into that field usually already had an affinity and/or interest towards it at a young age. Question... can you build your own computer without outside help?

Yes, it is hard. You will go bald and you'll barely have any time to make your groceries.

Second thoughts ?

It's about the career you want in the future, so your education major should revolve around the job you desire. To answer your question: Yes, it's hard. My father's major is Computer Science, and he has PhD. He told me it's very hard. Computer Science will be split down to hardware and software; he specialized in software. I'm not going to go specifics here, but you will face ton of mathematical, coding and programming classes; if you're not good at maths, then you're not going to succeed.

My father signed me in Computer Science at university, but I changed it later because I didn't feel it was for me. Specilize in the major you want your career to be.

I took a semester in computer science and it was pretty easy. I only found coding to be tedious and sort of annoying. As a profession it doesn't seem difficult, the only thing I could say you'd find remotely hard is coding, and computer languages, but once you get that down, the rest is a cake walk.

Ir probably indeed is.
I'd assume there's a bit of memorizing and coding and stuff. Math?
