It is still a serious episode overall, the ending with Naruto about to pull the seal of and the 8 tails coming out was really emotional. It's just the few parts that are ridiculous to make them seem more powerful.

And the water skiing is just how he controls himself when he is going so fast on the water, i think it is pretty cool.

Earthbending? he has mastery over all elements so what is weird about that?

It would look good probably if the animation wasn't a complete joke. I'm never one to bash animation but it was just......ew, not just the fight only either, Pain sealing Naruto, the camera views, lack of proper human structure on Pain making him sometimes look like a flinging noodle, the faces and other things bring the value of animation down really badly. And it's no one else's fault but the animators, they made every single frame of it so they knew how it would turn out.

If you like the episode fine by me I'm not gonna judge, but whenever I watch the Pain fight I stop watching when Naruto gets captured because I know what's following after, and I don't want to watch it..

Look at the latest one, just watch it again and cry
