Honestly there are only a few people who like Neji, so his death doesn't really matter.

Only ones who complain about Neji's death the most are anti hinata and naruhina fans. The common complaint they make is "Neji died for a pairing". Who cares? Even Neji fans aren't that annoying

TBH those four kage should have died since Kishi replaced them as Kage anyways.

Everyone likes Neji but not as their favorite and of course lots people are kinda pissed that he died over pairing device which is reasonable to hate so.

Guy, Oonoki, should died. some secondary younger ninjas like Ino or Tenen; Choji or Shino should had died.

For the biggest, it would make sense Kakashi die because of his relationship with Tobi. But he being alive is better.
Sakura imo should have died, in a epic fight in a beautiful sacrifice to the village and her loved ones. It would rendeem her character, and give a much more honorable ending than being just a negligect woman by Sasuke.

And for shippers, would be forever discussion "whom she would marry if she had alive".
Furthermore, some kages could have died. Tsunade or mei.
