had it been someone other than obito it would've been better, sure. but even with obito the source of the problem was his reasons for starting all this BS and going completely 180 because of rin. so it has less to do with him being uchiha and more to do with just being an extremely disappointing simplified character which probably was caused by kishi's drop in quality, pacing issues and goal to end the manga exactly on chapter 700 even at the cost of making everyone 1 dimensional extra cliche dialoge near the end. uchiha shouldn't be the scapegoat for kishi's inconsistent **** ups.

Imagine if Tobi had turned out to be like, Minato

Tobi is originally Obito up until the Nine Tails Incident in Konoha, Minato is forced to kill his former student, learns from Obito why he did it (keep Obito as this obsessed loony loverboy manipulated by Madara at this point), is distraught at how Team Minato turned out, plus the death of his wife, and resolves to fake his own death in order to take up the Tobi persona and investigate the extent of Madara's plan, leaving the Yang half of Kurama sealed in Naruto to defend the village while he travels Sasuke-style to discover things like Black Zetsu, Nagato/Akatsuki, etc.

He transplants the Kamui Sharingan into his own eyes, so now we have FTG + Kamui, which is probably the most broken possible combination in the series

While he's away, the village ostracizes Naruto, and also undergoes the Uchiha Clan Massacre, leading Minato to lose faith in his own village and their capacity for compassion and peace

He embraces Madara's moon's eye plan, which BZ would have informed him about, and takes steps to bring it about, similarly to Obito, with the intention of bringing his son Naruto on board

Kabuto does what he does and brings War Arc about, Minato acts as Obito did here too

Third-to-last or second-to-last battle is Naruto vs. Minato, Yang vs. Yin., father vs. son

Minato redeems himself either by helping to defeat Madara or Kaguya in the manner that Obito did

This would have at least recentered Naruto's role in the plot as someone doing things other than chasing after Sasuke

Smh, it's called reading in between the lines. The goofy Tobi was was Obito mimicking Spiral Zetsu's personality. He most likely deattached himself from that suit long before he went to attack the Leaf Village.

For the sake of maintaining his identity he copied SZ's personality, he wasn't forced or still physically attached. Why don't you post some manga panels of early Shippuden Tobi wearing the SZ suit. Obito switched personalities on his own accord like he did so from Tobi to Tobidara.
