... "What Song Are You Listening To Currently?"...

You know this kind of thread. Name any forums doesn't have it where members post what are they listening of music, right? So, when I go and post a song or music I like, and sometimes or most the times I see someone posted a K-Pop or J-Pop song (Does it matter which one?), curiosity sometimes gets on me and I wonder...

"Let's click and see"

You can describe this kind of videos music/song as more like the era of 1997 to 2000 where names like:

- Backstreet Boys
- N'Sync
- Five
- S-Club 7
- O Town

what else?

Now we hear names of bands like:

- One Direction

and others if they exist? I dunno...

I was born in 1981 ... I don't remember at which age I started listening to English songs. Maybe at age of 17, the age where I tried to improve my English, learning through games like RE2 and MGS, listening to Eminem, BSB.

I use RE2 and MGS to imitate dialogues.

Back to the point, each time has its own kind of generation of singers whether single or band. The collide between people...

"This band sucks. They are gay"
"I don't like this band or that singer"
"This band ROCKS"
"This song is badass"
Fangirl: "I love <insert band or hot guy>"

I used to listen to Eminem, BSB, N'Sync and Five... The era of 1998 to 2000. Probably these times were the best for songs. Little by little, I started to get interested into 80s/90s songs, and even back to 60s/70s ... Either I was bored or wanna try old songs I never heard... Sometimes I search YouTube for best 80s songs, and I find good ones.

GTA: Vice City was also a reason for getting me in searching for 80s songs... There are times I get bored of songs and search for music like Audiomachine, and I'm big fan of Audiomachine. Two Steps From Hell and any group like them. I noticed myself liking orchestras too and Background Music whether in movies, games or animes.

I'm not fan of K-Pop/J-Pop, and never be... They are beyond my time. I guess I'm from the generation who used to like/listen to BSB, N'Sync and people like these.

Just when I watch a K-Pop video which it's more popular than Japanese. They move, they sing, wearing clothes like... I dunno... you judge... Hair-style... Lyrics written in Korean that you and I we don't know what they say. You should check a video on YouTube, Famous YouTube channels people like SMOSH, DeStorm and others and how their reactions to K-Pop.

I ask myself what happened to music? Thank God I was born in 1981. I'm an Atari 2600 fan/generation, and now I have PS3, still aiming to PS4.

However, the point is, when I watch any K-Pop video, how is that compared to "N'Sync - Pop"? That song apparently is more likely the first of its kind that K-Pop videos aren't different than it.

So... people who were teenagers from 1990s specially the teenager of years 1996 to 2000.

Tell us your view about K-Pop/J-Pop compared to the latest 1990s of English songs.

I may not have been a teen during that time but I remember some of those bands well. I feel it really is a cultural thing, not being exposed to the environment and trend left me in shock and confused when I first watched a k-pop and j-pop vid. They have a completely style and are trying to appeal to their audience in different ways.
