Beauty is what captures that eye, and personality is what captures that heart.
My mother used to always say that to me growing up, and to find someone that is like her. I never knew what that really meant till recently. The experience I got from dating gave me that answer. It doesn't matter how beautiful a women may seem to you , if you don't like her character, it won't work in the long run.
First obviously, that person has to look good to you, then the attraction can start. Okay let's move a little further now your with this person. Most people, younger people, think, within so little time, that they are in love. Most of them can't even give their own answer to what they think love is.
Second, after you are together, after step one is complete, then you date, so that way you can get to know each other. This is the most important step because, if you are looking for a long term relationship, their personality will affect how long the relationship will last.
No one really knows at first what type of personalities and habits click with them. That is gained through experience, or a very good understanding of oneself. I learned that I need a good with a sense of humor, that likes to chill like I do, likes the same type of movies that I do, accepts that I like anime
. I need all this in a women because that is what im comfortable with. Kinda like my mother, same movie types, joke about everything, and come on she not gonna complain about me watching cartoons. If i was around that my entire life up to this point, I think I should find someone that gave me that same comfort. She doesn't have to look like my mom, that's weird, just same character in a way.
That is where the saying, "every boy grows up to marry his own mother" comes from. Took me a while, but I truly understand this, and that is why I believe i'm making the right choice right now and marrying my fiance of 5 years. I love the way she looks, and I can deal with the REAL her. Think I made her wait enough.....
Wheeww sorry for the long post guys, if anyone actually sat and read all this thank you. I'm just getting some stuff of my chest before I do this......one more week.... I'll be a married man. And if you happen to see in the future, "MrsNinjutsuSeeker....it was because I finally talked her into making an account here lol. I'll get her eventually
