Im fine with Gohan being fodder

He's one of my favs. I know it's hard to see him as he is right now. But i must say, Kishimoto has some balls to do that. He knows he can lose a lot of fans by putting Gohan like that and he still does it. Why? Because that's how Gohan is.

He doesn't like to fight, he wants to be an investigator (confirmed by himself in cell saga). He only joined the z warriors because he was key to save earth.

Now goku and vegeta are god level. He really doesn't need to be strong. So he can be happy.

It's one of the only points where Toriyama made it clear that he is not doing fanservice and he is only progressing characters by the sake of the plot. And the plot for Gohan is, he is gonna be Pan's father and a normal human by his decision.

And this is not only a Dragon Ball Super thing.. At the end of Z, Gohan didn't even participate in the tournament, and he had the same nerd look. So, even in the original franchise, Gohan was like this.

It's only logical... Now you should remember his cool moments as the strongest non fused character of the Buu saga:

Gohan is pathetic he was only good in the last part of the cell saga but he was essential in future trunks development a little he helped him relaxed I never liked gohan and he's right where he belongs fodder island

I'm not fine with Gohan being a fooder. DB needs him cause Goku & Vegeta can't be in every battle & Trunks isn't no where near Gohan's level. Toriyama had better come up with something involving Gohan & others otherwise his pride an joy dragonball will be destroyed by fans not watching or reading as much. I like Goku & Vegeta but what's the point in all the others if the opponents they face are out the leagues of every1 but Goku & Vegeta an now Beerus.

Toriyama is going too far away from every character being involved in the series no matter how big or small the involvement is.

Now every1 is just standing around waiting on Goku to do everything. (It's kinda always been that way but Damn. This DBS is all Goku Goku Goku & it gets annoying at times)

The problem is that many people don't understand the character "Son Gohan". All they care about is power and muscles.

Gohan never liked the fight. NEVER. He always wanted a normal life and it wasn't Chichi who "forced" him into studying. Sure, she told Gohan to study when he was a child, but that is only normal. Every caring parent would do that, since Gohan rather played outside with animals and especially that dragon the whole day. Gohan hated to fight.

The only inconsistency that I see is bringing Gohan back in the Buu-arc (and the Frieza-movie arc). That was pure fanservice for those, who cried about Gohan not being as "badass" as he was during the Cell-arc. Gohan's role as a non-fighting person, a father and teacher, is completely fine. That's what Gohan always wanted. But people often don't care about what suits the character and only care about their own interests.

Why should anyone be bothered? He didn't want to fight in the first place, he didn't have the heart for it.

He reached the peak of his potential at Cell Saga, and it came to its natural fall. I didn't watch DBZ as a kid, so I've got no sentimental attachments... whilst Gohan going SSJ2 was a highlight, it wasn't the be all and end all.

And since when is DBZ not all goku? The only saga where it wasn't goku was against cell. Now in Super vegeta has as much protagonism as goku

This chapter did not confirm Gohan is not coming back. It just showed the justification of gohan's weakness.

In every Saga every other Z fighter made some kind of contribution.
SSJ Saga Krillin hit Vegeta with the spirit bomb and Gohan helped out and even Jajarobi cut of Vegetal tail. Yamcha died but at least everyone else fought.

Frieza Saga Vegeta did damage and even Piccolo held his own against Friezas second form. That was probably the most Goku focused time out of all the Sagas.

Cell Saga had multiple instances where every character became powerful and was able to hold there own against a villain at the time. First Vegeta beating Android 19 after becoming super saiyan. The Piccolo fusing with Kami and beating android 17. Then trunks and Vegeta being able to beat Cell's second form. And of course Gohan SSJ2 finishing it off.

Buu Saga had Gohan be the main protagonist for most of the time until Goku got brought back to life. Even then Trunk and Goten became Gotenks and were able to match Super Buu at the time. Had their fight with the main villain. Then Gohan achieved Mystic form and becmae the strongest non fused fighter of DBZ. Then Goku and Vegeta came back and became Vegito. Finally ending it with the classic Spirit bomb.

What I'm saying is that at least in the past the other characters even the fodder were useful in even fighting the main villain at certain points. Now all they do is cheer on Goku and Vegeta. The other fighters really have no reason to even be there. Now its more Goku focused than ever. Btw vegeta should have killed Frieza not Goku in the movie.
