What's more hilarious is that it's fan don't question the illogical things at all,and consider it the most popular series,which is naruto in reality,based on sales. Lol they forget these thread are made by people outside japan,where it's like a dirt in terms of sales(45 million/345 million {by nov. 2013}) compared to naruto(188 million/314 million {by feb. 2013}). can you provide the numbers please? because as of nov 2013, one was the highest selling manga of all time WORLDWIDE.

and really the focus of all mangakas is JAPAN, most people OUTSIDE OF JAPAN, read it online.

Those are bullshit figures, you can't even compare the US market to the Japanese market. It's not even a fraction of the sales. Besides the European market is the second biggest manga market (and France is leading there) And there One Piece is also the biggest. The third biggest market are the other Asian countries like China and Indonesia, where surprisingly, One Piece is also the biggest.

Look at this chart of ALL TIME !! sales, so those are sales from every copy ever sold. Even the precious Dragon ball that also was so 'huge' in the US. And see how One Piece passed that point in 2011 already by a mile. Naruto doesn't even have half of the sales

Well, you won't drop it as no one that has read it for 700+ chapters will drop it. If you were to drop you you would have done so in the beginning.

Oda always wrote in the pace he currently writes and its what makes OP so special among all others. Bleach to survive had to go trhough several "interventions" when in essence the story died when Aizen was defeated. Naruto was excellent before the time skip but lost it all when Kishimoto simply started to stretch it out too much only to run out of ideas on the final part which is simply being rushed and leaving tons of things unanswered.

The fact that Oda takes time and writes OP at a slower pace is excellent. The story stays fresh and developed, keeping us locked in it and the end of the series is nowhere in sight even after 16 years or so of manga. Thats what makes OP so special amongst the others in a objective way.

Personally, everyone will have his or her motives as to why OP is epic. I love how the characters are described and developed and I personally love the humor and the main, big picture story. Its what I love about it most of all. Others like the variety in story or the drawing details. To each his own. But saying that you'll drop it after 700 chapters of reading it is stupid as that won't happen. You'll simply read it next week same as us. And you'll eventually come her to share with us your opinions as you won't be able to stop yourself. Its how it works.

But if you do drop it, I wish you find some other manga you like and enjoy. In essence, no one makes you read OP and complaining about how it is when it has always been like that is like a fish complaining of having to swim. It makes no sense.

Whatever I said is correct. I talked about MOST POPULAR MANGA/ANIME category in myanimelist,never mentioned BEST RATED ANIME/MANGA category,if I remember correctly. So don't point my wrong point,when I am not even wrong there.

And for your first point,avg. non-japan and all,keep your assumptions to yourself,as that is irrevelant,as whatever the number of manga/anime readers/watchers are there outside JAPAN is same for both Naruto and One Piece or any other manga. Which manga/anime attracts how many towards itself among those available decide it's popularity.

Truth be told,I grew up with marvel and dc comic characters so one piece char. power and ability smell plagarism and plot started too childish and slow and is still slow paced in dressrosa and luffy is still childish,like seriously dude grow up,you are 20-21. Naruto seemed fresh and all. The opp. scenario exist for both in JAPAN.

I never got why people called it the big 3, just because for a couple of years Bleach and Naruto had a decent arc and got decent sales (that couldn't even touch OP) ppl started to call it the big 3 (not been big 3 for a while), and even worse, the HST (if they are going by sales how the f can either Bleach or Naruto replace DB(Z)?), but the biggest gap is quality wise, while OP can compete at the top with the likes of the 20th century boys, Monster, Berserk, FMA ... Naruto and Bleach are much lower on the scale, as for a Shounen they have already been left behind by Toriko, while they are good manga they can't really compare to the the top, they are like Harry Potter to the One Piece's Tolkien Universe ... Harry Potter is really good and indeed some ppl like it better (though Bleach as a whole (NOT current) is not in Naruto's league either) but at large you can't really compare it to Tolkien's work

Japanese sales mean a lot more because it's the birthplace of manga, so clearly the Japanese can differentiate between quality series.

That's like me dropping Naruto Shippuden right when Obito is revealed and saying it doesn't make sense without waiting for an explanation.
