How on earth was this a terrible chapter?? The only reason so many people consider it a letdown is cuz everyone suspected it being obito from the start so when his face was finally revealed it wasnt that much of a shock. But srsly, there have been dozens of theories over the past 6 years or whenever tobi first surfaced, one of them was bound to be right. Thats what happens when so many theories are formulated, you cant expect them to all be wrong right? Remember the whole thing about people guessing that the 4th hokage was naruto's dad based on his hair?
Now that i think about it, kishi has actually been really clever. as a writer he has succeeded in winding us up with mindf*ck and plot twists. At first, we right away thought it was obito because of the hair and the name, but dismissed it when he claimed to be madara. Later, kishi wowed us by revealing that he wasnt madara after all!! What's amazing about that is he created this character that in all honesty, could have been ANYONE and it drove us insane coming up with theories. he made it seem that the idea of obito was completely ludicrous, which is what he was going for, trying to get us to think. Theres nothing lame about that. Kishi is certainly not "pulling shit out of his ass". Sure there are parts that havent been perfect, but i trust that kishi knows what the hell hes doing with this, seeing as this is one of the biggest mysteries in the entire series.
Like honestly, i fail to understand why everyone is so mad and raging. Consider the following: Tobi's identity has been a secret for YEARS. While the theory of izuna for example s very valid, the emotional response to tobi being Izuna, a character who was barely introduced and not really close to the characters we love, wouldnt have been as powerful or meaningful because really, who would care that it was izuna? Tobi as Obito just FITS. It works, no matter what anyone says now that we finally know its him. from tobi's goofy personality, his hair, everything. So what about the timeline??? all we saw from this chapter was his FACE. he hasnt even spoken, there hasnt been any dialogue!! OF COURSE the plotholes will be cleared up!! why would anyone even doubt that?? Im totally psyched that its obito, can you imagine how effed in the head kakashi is gonna be now??
And lets say for instance that next week, tobi is proven to be TWO people, the other being someone like izuna or s06p, it would make total sense and be very reasonable. It adds emotion to the plot because this character we've been pouring over for so long has turned out to be someone close to us.
I will say however, that it would have been better if from the get go, you couldnt even see tobi's hair so no one would have the chance to even guess obito/ i think then it would have had more of an impact.
So yeah, have faith you guys!!! Watch, next week alot of the madness is gonna be reduced and we can all calm the heck down
