I'm confused

I'm new here so I'm kind of confused. Usually after a chapter when a character does something bad ass, people make countless threads on how that character can take down every shinobi and yadda yadda. This usually results in people calling sasuke "sausage" or "saucegay" or calling some other character a weird nickname like how naruto is "nardo", is this like a joke or are people seriously going all out to promote a character and bash others?

alot of the guys on here jumps on bandwagons. if the character does good for the week, all threads are about how he or she is their favorite character. If they do bad, then... well just look at he Might Gai threads going around. lol Everyone is bashing on him just because we got flashbacks and everyone thinks hes down for the count. Watch next week when he kicks ass, everyone is gonna be back on the wagon.

On the other hand, there are those who hate on some character so just bash them and their fanbase.
