As Kai see's you in mid range he quickly activates his Byakugan after that he quickly makes the tiger hand seal and spews out large fireballs in the form of a dragon head.

Then Kai quickly brings his hand together and gather his chakra and slams his hands on the ground sending a current of electrical energy through the earth at Laxus.
