Tobi is an interesting character, in personality (as they change), appearance, abilities, not to mention the mystery surrounding him.

I actually find his character extremely bland. His first appearances were intriguing, with the goofy shit, and all. But once it become clear that he was the mastermind, he just became the standard anime bad guy. And him being Obito makes him even worse. Basically, he is Sasuke if Sasuke doesn't clean his shit up, and get it together.

I agree with your statement that Tobi was better as a underdog akatsuki member, although i still love his abilities and it gives him more of a universal flare. Not to sound hipster but i liked him the second i saw him first appear as sasori's replacement.
