One of the basic 5 elements. Strong to earth, weak to wind. Its popular due to Sasuke. Its loud and fast, much like Scaze. It can shock people, paralyze them, and you know, be used to remove people's gentle parts off.

Now, we are moving onto the techniques. All I want for you to do is to perform the technque in your best way and analyze it. We'll go 3 techniques per post.
(Raiton no Jutsu) - Lightning Release Technique
The most basic lightning technique. Manipulate your lightning chakra and direct small bolts of lightning to attack your targets. Can come in handy, but it's pretty weak.
(Raiton: Raikou Oonami) - Lightning Release: Lightning Surge
Whenver your opponent is in the short range, slam your hands filled with lightning chakra and you should release a surge of lightning across the terrain. This should shock the opponent down.
(Ration: Ikazuchi Kashou) - Lightning Release: Thunder Burn
A simple technique where you independently move your palm and unleash a wave of lightning bolts at your target. Can be used to affect several targets within range.

Id like to add as an afterthought that lightning is the core of several advanced abilities. For example storm and sound. It also has a cool variation in the form of black lightning.
I can play pretend Zeus, so its all good. I start off by amassing a suitable amount of chakra and focusing said chakra. Followmg that lightning would be released. The bolts would hit a nearby tree and go through it, leading to it falling.

(Raiton: Iwa Nadare) - Lightning Style: Stone Avalanche
A tricky technique which is used when you are on top of a cliff or a raised platform. It is only exclusive to these locations. Perform two hand seals and clap your hands together, and release a wave of electrical energy. This weakens the rocks and make them to fall as they crumble. They then rain down and trap whoever is down there, dealing some damage.
(Raiton: Shuurai Rappa no Jutsu) - Lightning Release: Lightning Strike Horn Technique
A very simple technique where you extend your arm outward and apply lightning chakra. It will glow in a light yellow and then it will shoot several bolts of lightning in the shape of horns, which affect multiple targets within range.
( Raiton: Inazuma ken Fudou ) - Lightning Release: Lightning Blades Levitation
Channel lightning chakra into your sword which increases its cutting capabilities. From there, the sword will levitate and it will multiply into two extra copies, which float in front of you. You basically control these swords with hand gestures, but you cannot mold any other chakra as you need to keep focus

Focusing my chakra and perfroming two hand seals, I release my chakra in the form of a wave of electricity towards the cliff that magically appeared. The lightning would weaken the rocks and cause them to fall down, damaging the terrain below.

Perform three handseals and manifest your gathered chakra in the form of an electric current from your hand. This can reach up to long range so it's pretty neat, as it can also hit multiple targets. Additionally, since you control it, you can avoid obstacles on the way.
(Raiton: Jibashi) - Lightning Release: Electromagnetic Murder
This technique allows you to create a wave of electricity from your hands. Its usage can vary from manifesting in a small surge to shock an opponent, or in a lightning stream that's capable of tearing through solid rock. Its range is dependent if you wish to use it with a water technique, as it is normally used.
(Raiton: Raigeki no Yoroi) - Lightning Release: Lightning Strike Armour
One of my favoruite C rank lightning techniques. With this, you surround yourself with eletricity, and the possibilites are endless. The great force of the eletric field protects you whilst simultaneously dealing damage to anyone who comes in contact with it. It disperses after one usage.
( Raiton: Denki Railanshō ) - Lightning Release: Electric Discharge Palm
Channel lightning chakra into your dominant hand and slam it against the ground. The released chakra becomes discharged and blows up into bolts of lightning all around you up to 5 meters.

It would extend at a fast range and hit multiple trees on the field, navigating through them with the fluidity of a dancer.
By swinging my hand I release a wave of lightning that comes into contact with the lake next to us. The lightning would travel across the water, giving it a nice blueish color. A frog would have moved in the wrong time and jumped in the water. This would lead to it getting fried. What a shame. But as the french do... So I go and eat the frog.
After getting some nourishment from the frog, I surround myself with lightning. Unfortunately, it did not act as a bootleg version of lightning armor. It was however capable of electrocuting anyone that came into contact with me. So it served as a good rape repellant. Not that it would work against me because I just keep on coming, 'bypassing' the protection it gives after one try.

Thunder Saber: Similar to the wind version, however instead of cutting wind around ones arm, this one gives a sphere of lightning around the fist. The fist would explode upon contact into a localised electric explosion.

Other ninjas will need to use a clone or an ally for the same effect.

Creates a hound of streaming electricity that remains attached to the users dominant hand. The hound would rage on towards the targets, but it would still be connected to the user's hands through a lightning bolt. Somewhat similar to how a Naras shadow works.

Could be good to use with a custom weapon of some sorts to unleash a powerful combo.
