It just didn't make sense cus he said I need to sacrifice myself cut himself did a bunch of other stuff then switched bodies, it was just kind of odd how it happen. And I guess he doesn't want sasuke's body anymore then.

1. Yes. His host body was dying when he sliced his stomach and needed a replacement body, which happened to be Zetsu.
2. He said that he needed to open the stomach of the Shiki Fujin Shinigami in order to do what is written on the scroll. But he needed to regain his arms, which were sealed by Hiruzen inside the Shinigami. When he cut its stomach, his arms, as well as the first 4 Hokages, were released.
