Elijah, the Ganmi, makes his way to the training field where he would make his debut as a teacher, and mentor. He had only recently started it, and he was still quite nervous, however, he didn't show it. Elijah was wearing his black suit, something that he always did. He was always dressed with class, and he was always clean, even if he was in the dirtiest fights. He has a small suitcase with him, which contained various scrolls.

You must be registered for see images

Elijah then finally meets his student, and says with a stoic voice and expression, with one hand in his left pocket, and the other by his side.

"Hello there, I am Elijah. I will be guiding you through the process of Genjutsu, this includes how to induce on your target, how to break it and even, how to layer two different Genjutsu techniques. I must warn you, it is fairly complex, so be ready.

First thing I want from you, is for you to tell me everything you know about Genjutsu, and also mention some notable users of the skill. Please, use as much detail as you can."

Elijah let out a light smile, as he waited.

Kazu stands firmly ready as his white hair and long blue trench coat blew against the gentle breeze, he was very excited for his first day of training with this sensei and the thought of genjutsu ran across his mind wildly. Kazu's expression couldn't be any more happier even tho it was barely visible through his mask but then his sensei arrived and like tradition he rested his right fist against his left palm then bowed to him. After Elijah greeted himself he rose and straightened his posture as his sensei went on to explain his thoughts of the difficulty of illusions and what Kazu needed to do. ''Okay'' Kazu replied as he then stood there in a quiet tone for a minute to think of a logical answer. Finally Kazu spoke up and started to speak his mind..

''Genjutsu is obviously the art of illusions and the use of manipulating the surrounding chakra to control ones mind and vision, however it is also a form of ninjutsu and to make false features. By using genjutsu you immediately grasp a hold of the opponents senses to manipulate there mind and control there vision to create false images or to emerge there deeper fears. There is also a way to effect a opponents hearing which is the worst kind of genjutsu and even worse if it is mixed with vision control. All in all genjutsu is the art of controlling not only chakra but the senses of a individual and there brain.

Some users may be Itachi, Shisui, Sasuke, Obito/Tobi, and Madara.''

Elijah listens to his student, who speaks with confidence as he lays out what Genjutsu is, or the amount of knowledge he has on said subject. He wasn't surprised, he knew a bit about it, and although a few parts were vague, Elijah wanted to expand on it anyway. He squinted his eyes until after his student spoke, keeping his darkened eyes on his face.

"Not bad, though there are various vague parts, so allow me to expand upon the subject at hand. Genjutsu, or Illusionary Arts, is known to be quite complex and fascinating. Its unique, and although its effects aren't real, it can cause a myriad of them. There are certain KGs which allow Genjutsu to actually become real (The Kurama Clan).

Nonetheless, Genjutsu works by using your chakra to disturb the chakra flow of your opponent. This allows you to instill a myriad of effects on the opponent, through his five senses, which are taste, touch, smell, hearing and sight. This means you can cause the opponent to taste an odd taste, smell something burning, hear the sound of deceased friends and see himself disintegrating into nothing. All of this happens within an illusion, and are usually combined, to form a very special type of technique.

You might be wondering, but how exactly? When not affected by a Genjutsu, at default, one could say, every shinobi has a balanced chakra flow. A balanced combination of both physical and spiritual energies, calm in unison. However, if a person is placed in a Genjutsu (by placing your chakra inside them) it disrupts that balance, which scrambles the connection of the two energies, physical and spiritual, and causes the effects outlined in the Genjutsu. The Sharingan is capable of seeing this change by looking at his chakra network.

Also, Genjutsu include a trigger like hand seals, a sound, even a smell can induce a Genjutsu. I've come across variants of Genjutsu that use the snapping your fingers to induce the illusion. That's one example of them. Now, tell me, how do you think we can detect Genjutsu? How will I know if I am in a Genjutsu? Be as detailed as you can, and I'll fill in for what you don't get."

Elijah creates a small chair with his Earth based chakra to sit on, as his student would explain.

Kazu stands there silently as he listens to the speech his sensei told him about the use of genjutsu and although he didn't know much of how to detect the nature of change when a genjutsu has been activated he thought he mine as well try to explain. ''I suppose we could detect if we were in a genjutsu if some sort of sudden gesture was to happen to the opponent like a snap or something of the sort. Another way is if some sort of disruption would happen to the chakra or your chakra..'' Kazu says while scratching the back of his head in awkwardness, hoping his answer wasn't wrong or too short.

It seemed like student knew very little about the skill, which wasn't a surprise, as not everyone delved into Genjutsu like Elijah did when he was younger. He simply smiled as he was bout to explain, he enjoyed Genjutsu so much, he didn't mind. Elijah stands up from his chair, as he starts explaining.

"Okay, so I am guessing you are clear as to how Genjutsu is induced on someone, and what it is exactly. Now, we'll cover how one would notice that you are in a Genjutsu. There are a wide variety of Genjutsu techniques, and each own has its own way of being broken, though we'll cover how to break it after this. Now we'll just talk about you will notice that it is indeed a Genjutsu that has been placed on you.

There are basically two ways; one is to figure it out through analysing the information that you are receiving from the Genjutsu, and notice what is wrong. Though you have to be really smart here, since its basically just an educated guess. The second method includes the use of a Doujutsu like Sharingan or Rinnegan to see your chakra flow, and notice that it is disturbed. We won't be covering those methods though. So basically, you have logically figure why its an illusion.

I could use the example of a Genjutsu that starts off by the user forming two hand seals and causes leaves to start swirling around you. The leaves will then fall away, and cause your biggest fear to appear before you in the form of an image. Did the opponent use hand seals for the technique? Could it be a summoning? If so, was there any smoke, or was the summoning method used? Your biggest fear could even be something that couldn't be there, logically. What about the leaves, were they even tangible? Did they brush against your skin as they swirled around you? Did they even smell like real leaves? This already allows you to notice that something isn't quite right, and that it could possibly be an illusion. Got any questions on it?"

Elijah asked with a friendly tone.

As Kazu listens to his sensei talk more about Genjutsu he wonders how good he gotten with genjutsu, his eyes gets lost in amazement in his sensei's knowledge of genjutsu and when he asks if there was any questions Kazu clears his throat before speaking. ''Yea, Is it possible for a pet or animal summons to detect if a genjutsu was activated?'' He asks.

"Well, it has been ruled that clones can indeed be induced in an illusion, but due to their make up, not being organic, the effects of the illusion cannot affect them mentally. They could perhaps notice an illusion being induced on them, through the same method I had described but its not really practical (considering that you control the clones anyway, so you'l have to figure it out nonetheless). As for summons, I am not fully sure. However, this is where breaking a Genjutsu comes in. What do you know about breaking Genjutsu?"

Elijah said in a serious tone. He loved giving information, but he also liked some effort from the student's side. However, this kid was pretty new to all this, so it was understandable.

OOC: You can read up a bit about it, and include it in your reply, and I'll right the wrongs, and explain deeper, or anwer any questions you have. Just for information's sake:

''one way to break a genjutsu is to overlap one with a more higher ranked genjutsu, or having a ally present to perform the chakra transfer technique to you which will cause the genjutsu to fade completely. Other ways might be becoming a sage or being a jinchuriki. Another way is to overflow/ over use your chakra in a large amount which may release the genjutsu. By altering the flow of physical and spiritual energy and by making a surge of energy in your body to disrupt your spiritual energy will also break a genjutsu. Detecting a genjutsu in ways like fears and such is also a way of detecting or breaking a genjutsu.'' Kazu speaks longer this time after reading a bit from the script that he was given.

Elijah squints his eyes as he listens to his student's explanation. It was somewhat, lacking in terms of detail. However, Elijah thought that his student could do better. He put down his suitcase, and with a stern voice exclaimed;

"You can give me a bit more than that. There is a lot you missed."

Kazu looks back at his sensei and mumbles in question if his sensei's intention was to make him into a master of genjutsu or not according to his reaction to his answer, However after he said to give him more detail then he could not refuse. His drive to learn more of the illusionary arts was more greater than that to merely give up this early so he straightened his posture and began to speak another answer.

''Genjutsu is a illusionary art that is created by using the own chakra of the user to disturb the surrounding chakra of the opponent which causes the opponent to undergo varies effects such as hallucinations or even death and sickness. Although genjutsu is a illusionary art used to effect the opponents chakra that opponent can easily reverse or break the effects right back as easy as casting it. Normal, regular, default genjutsu is just a mere joke because it can be overcome by mere logic, i mean if your stupid i feel bad for you because you would be fooled by such a thing. Now that i have read more of this document i can now understand that genjutsu has a range system which is odd but hey whatever, the longer you are the harder it is to induce a genjutsu on your opponent which may in fact alter the sensitivity of the break. The art of energy and spiritual energy i have already said so i don't see any reason to repeat my self so moving on. So after performing genjutsu there is also a wait time it would seem similar to a lock where you have to have something be set into a certain place so it may take a few seconds and or minutes, you may take this time however to figure out a way to reverse the oncoming effects or even detect that your under one. Other ways of detection is to figure out the disturbance of the flow of your own chakra and stuff like that, i have already said this so moving on. Sensing the genjutsu like hearing, feeling, seeing, touching, and other things like that. Ally aid may break the genjutsu as well because they may not be under the genjutsu i have talked about that as well. Okay so that's all i understand, all of this counter this with point 5 yada yada yada stuff i don't really understand to be honest. ''

Kazu scratches his head and hopes this time around he did better.

"Although you spoke more, I was asking about breaking Genjutsu, not to go back over what Genjutsu is, as I had already covered that. Nonetheless, I will try and cover as much as I can. Genjutsu causes the spiritual and physical balance to be unbalanced, and as such, to break it, one has to get them to be balanced again. There are several ways to do this:

1. Pain, is one of them. Altering the physical energy through pain, causes it to fluctuate by "shocking" your body. Your chakra flow experiences a spike, due to the pain, and resets your chakra flow thus breaking the Genjutsu. The higher the pain inflicted on your body, the higher the "spike". Here are some guidelines as to what rank of Genjutsu can be broken, by what amount of pain."

Eliajh grabbed a scroll and tossed it towards his student. He hoped that his explanations would be clear, as he tried to put as much effort in as he could.

D Rank Genjutsu: Chipping a Finger (like one does as he bites to draw blood for a Summoning Jutsu)
C Rank Genjutsu: Low level Physical Attacks, Bitting a chunk of your Cheek
B Rank Genjutsu: Low ranked Taijutsu/Freestyle
A Rank Genjutsu: High ranked Taijutsu, Stabbing Yourself in minor muscle, Cutting yourself, Breaking Smaller bones, Low level Burning/Voltage, Painful Cold
S Rank Genjutsu: EIG/Sage level Taijutsu, Breaking Bones, Deep Stabs or cuts, Medium Voltage/Burning, Extreme Painful Cold, Bitting your tongue off
"2. Altering your spiritual and physical energies in your chakra, by disturbing your spiritual energy. This is done through a surge of chakra, forcing yourself to mold and channel your chakra in a way that will either halt the chakra flow or disturb it. This can be done through either the Kai technique, which we will cover when we get there.

Then there's using techniques that act like surges. You need to have a technique that is at least 1 rank higher than the genjutsu set upon you for the case of elemental or specialized techinques (like Gentle Fist), or 2 ranks for the case of raw chakra techniques. An example of this is Raiton: Chidori Nagashi, an A-Rank full body technique that requires no hand seal and can dispel up to B-Rank Genjutsu set upon you. A chakra surge is basically any technique that releases a large amount of chakra from all your tenketsu, and overcomes the fluctuation and resets the balance again.

3. Last but not least, altering your chakra flow through the introduction of a foreign chakra, like entering Sage Mode, activating a Curse Seal or even having a Bijuu help you if you are a Jinchuuriki. This breaks all Genjutsu, except MS and EMS ones. It resets the flow, but you have to have valid reasoning first, before using any method to break Genjutsu."

Elijah looked at Kazu with no expression on his face, merely hoping that he understood everything.

"Do you understand?"

"Indeed it is, but it will be easier, when one condenses all the information. Nonetheless, one last step in terms of the theoretical aspects of Genjutsu. Layering Genjutsu, could you try and read the scroll, and summarize what it is, or how you understand it? Any questions to it, I will answer, plus clarify anything you don't understand."

Elijah threw the scroll towards his student, who he hoped would give him a solid answer this time round.

OOC: Try and really understand it. I can write massive wallies on how it works, but none of that will help if you don't understand it in the end, you know?

''Well first off..'' Kazu said before he spoke about genjutsu.

''Genjutsu is a illusionary art that can manipulate the opponents chakra which causes said individual to undergo varies effects such as hallucinations, pain, loss of hearing and vision, or even death. There are two types of genjutsu, the passive and the non chakra fueled types. Types like effects that disable vision and hearing or even altering the factor, and the other kind that uses Doujutsu. Genjutsu works by using chakra to disturb the chakra flow of the opponent, specially in the brain, altering his senses. By doing this you can make him perceive any you wish through senses, sounds, vision, pain, temperature and other things. The user needs to be close as well because the difficulty of effect is determined by the range, so if the user is close it is easy to induce a genjutsu and the longer or far away they are from the target the harder it is to induce a genjutsu.

Everyone has a balanced chakra flow and when a genjutsu is attempted or successfully used the balance between the two tips and twists and curves to a unbalanced area. To break this effect is to inflict pain on yourself and to perform this with accuracy is to do as listed:

D Rank Genjutsu: Chipping a Finger (like one does as he bites to draw blood for a Summoning Jutsu)
C Rank Genjutsu: Low level Physical Attacks, Bitting a chunk of your Cheek
B Rank Genjutsu: Low ranked Taijutsu/Freestyle
A Rank Genjutsu: High ranked Taijutsu, Stabbing Yourself in minor muscle, Cutting yourself, Breaking Smaller bones, Low level Burning/Voltage, Painful Cold
S Rank Genjutsu: EIG/Sage level Taijutsu, Breaking Bones, Deep Stabs or cuts, Medium Voltage/Burning, Extreme Painful Cold, Bitting your tongue off

Some Genjutsu can create a complete sensory manipulation to a point that while the illusion is undergoing in the targets mind, in reality, he's "frozen". This happens because the user creates an illusion that completely replaces the targets senses, leaving him to react in his mind to the illusion. Some, however, only block or mess with one sense, eyes, ears, mind, extra which leaves the target receiving the rest of the real sensory information. As such, not having been pulled into the illusionary world of the Genjutsu, the user can in this case move, react and act in reality.

There are multiple ways of detecting a genjutsu, however one way is to be smart enough to know your under one like the act of seeing way to many copy of someone which is not a actual jutsu or is even legal. Other ways is to detect the change of flow within the chakra which is harder, however it is a reasonable way to know if your under a genjutsu. Everything with genjutsu is determined by the rank and skill of which it is used, weak genjutsu is basically not even a genjutsu at all or even a waste of your chakra for the fact that it is so easy to reverse or detect. However, genjutsu can be used to easily win a fight as well which is also determined by skill. Everything genjutsu is is skill to make it short.

Altering the balance between physical and spiritual energies in your chakra by disturbing your physical energy. This is done by producing pain. Pain comes from the body and thus it makes your physical energy fluctuate by "shocking" your body. This will spike your chakra into resetting thus returning the balance of chakra.

Altering your chakra flow through the introduction of foreign chakra or energies. This can be done by an ally who is capable of using the chakra transfer technique or by entering, for example, sage mode or being a jinchuriki in control of your bijuu or releasing a Curse Mark. The reasoning is that as foreign chakra enters your system or another energy, your chakra flow becomes altered and unbalanced and thus releases the genjutsu. This enables the release of any Genjutsu except Mangekyo Sharingan grade Genjutsu.

and genjutsu layering casting is just like ''What'' to me... ''

"Alright, it seems you understood everything else, now all that's left is the Layering of Genjutsu. Now layering can be best explained as the ability to cast more than one non-conflicting Genjutsu on your opponent, in order to deepen or simply mix two illusions, making it a deal harder to break. Up to two non-conflicting Genjutsu can be layered together. This works, as long as the higher ranked Genjutsu is cast first, and then the lower ranking one. For example, if I cast an A rank genjutsu on my opponent, I would layer it with a Genjutsu of B rank and lower. If the lower ranked one is cast first, the moment the higher ranking one is cast, it flushes out the lower ranked one, and simply remains as a single Genjutsu, meaning you just used techniques, but only one worked.

Ex: Genjutsu A - Creates Butterflies, A ranked.
Genjutsu B - Creates Squirrels, B ranked.

A + B = Butterflies AND Squirrels
B + A = Butterflies NO Squirrels
Breaking Layered Genjutsu, is as simple as breaking the highest ranking one of the two that are layered. If you layered an A and B rank Genjutsu, you just have to use a method of breaking the A rank one, and the whole Genjutsu falls apart. However, if you break the B rank one, the A rank one will still remain. People use this to their advantage, since they have techniques that allow you to only techniques B rank and below, meaning they make it near impossible for you to break the A rank one, without pain, and sometimes, even that is near impossible (I'm looking at you, Reborn O___O). Anyway, in any of these layering of Genjutsu, the rank of the combined Genjutsu is always the rank of the highest Genjutsu used.

Ex: Genjutsu A - Creates Butterflies, A ranked.
Genjutsu B - Creates Squirrels, B ranked.
Genjutsu C - Creates Birds, B ranked.

B + C or C + B = Squirrels AND Birds, combined B rank Genjutsu
A + B = Butterflies AND Squirrels, combined A-Rank Genjutsu
C + A = Butterflies NO Birds, A-Rank
Lastly, if the Genjutsu that are cast, are conflicting, then the highest ranking one will always prevail, and if they are the same rank, they'll simply cancel each other out. That's pretty much it, got any questions? Anything that comes to mind, no matter how silly."

Elijah simply smiled, as he wanted his student to feel at ease. Genjutsu could be complex, but once broken down, it becomes like most other skills.

''Uh.. n-no. Whats next?'' He stumbled to ask whilst scratching his head, Kazu didn't know most of this but knew the base of what his sensei was taking about. Perhaps in the near future he will finally understand it in its full form.

"Alright, now keep all those rules within your mind as we now go to the techniques. I'll explain the Genjutsu to you, then I want you to cast on a clone of mine, and also tell me two advantages and disadvantages of the technique and how you would use it in battle. If you got questions, ask away.

Now, let us begin. The first genjutsu is simple. You will simply induce a Genjutsu on the opponent, where you will manipulate the very environment around both, changing it to your desire and allowing you to take advantage of the opponent, as he thinks the terrain had changed, whilst it had not. Some people create artificial pits, swamps or one could even change it completely, from a desert to a forest. Though only the terrain is changed, and nothing else. Its also done without hand seals. Use it against my clone."

Elijah creates a clone who would act as the dummy for this session.

''Okay'' Kazu begins to release his chakra and then using it to manipulate the surrounding chakra of the clone, This causes the chakra of the clone to be disturbed slightly but enough so the surrounding area would eventually change to a desert like background.
