Alrighty. Simple task, what is genjutsu?
Lol I dunno if that would be easy but surely I'm no genjutsu specialist although I'm hoping I'm gonna walk out here being one :p. Genjutsu is the utilization of chakra where the ninja use to fight mental battles with their respective opponents.

The purpose is probably to defeat them or famously talk no jutsu them so that their fighting spirit would diminish. Which in most cases would be the best way to defeat someone without physically exerting ones self. Also I think gen is solely used because of these reasons which is to Torture people mentally, Deceive them from the truth, Misdirect them like for example where one is, then second to last which is to give people Nightmares and possibly subdue the foe for maybe some ransom. I think Gen works in a way that one ninja manipulates NOT transmit their chakra to another ninja's mind which disrupts their nervous system causing them to see all sort of things. This manipulation cause the user to be able to control atleast one sense of the five senses of the victims. There are several types of Gen on our RP system namely Normal Genjutsu, Sound-based Genjutsu, Doujutsu genjutsu and Elemental Genjutsu. Which I have a vivid clue about their differences..

Not bad, not bad. But I shall add a little more.

How to dispel a Genjutsu and why

Simple answer lies in what is a Genjutsu. Genjutsu is a disruption of your normal chakra flow that makes you experience an illusion as it scrambles your chakra. We have gone through that so you might ask how does this help?

Ok, if a Genjutsu is a disruption in your own chakra flow, to dispel it you need to create a stronger disruption that will clear that one and leave your chakra on its normal state. So basically, there is only one way to dispel genjutsu: disrupting your chakra flow.

Now, this can be done in 3 basic ways:

1- Altering the balance between physical and spiritual energies in your chakra by disturbing your physical energy. This is done by producing pain. Pain comes from the body and thus it makes your physical energy fluctuate. Because of this fluctuation your chakra flow experiences a spike. This spike is a disturbance that will dispel other disturbances present in your chakra.

2- Altering the balance between physical and spiritual energies in your chakra by disturbing your spiritual energy. This is done by your sheer will power. Its done by forcefully creating a surge of chakra in your body by spiking your spiritual energy. It can be done in 2 ways: through a technique named Kai and through other techniques, like Nagashi, that will produce a high enough surge of chakra through your body.

3- Altering your chakra flow through the introduction of foreign chakra. This can be done by an ally or by entering for example, sage mode or being a jinchuriki. The truth is that as foreign chakra enters your system or another energy (natural energy), your chakra flow becomes altered and thus releases from the genjutsu.

All of these produce a reset-like effect on your chakra flow, making it return to normal.

Also here is everything you covered plus a little more.

±± Genjutsu ±±
Genjutsu, or Illusionary Arts, unlike ninjutsu, don't produce a real, palpable, feasible effect; it produces an illusionary effect. With a specific KG however, the illusions can become so strong that the body will be fooled into mimicking in real life the fake effects its perceiving through the illusion. There exists two types of Genjutsu: the passive, non chakra fueled ones (basically illusions to our senses like visual paradoxes and such which have little use in the RP and can be easily overcome through experience and logic) and the active, chakra fueled ones. Within the active chakra fueled ones two subtypes exist: Dojutsu induced Genjutsu and Normal Genjutsu.

Genjutsu works by using chakra to disturb the chakra flow of the opponent, specially in the brain, altering his senses. By doing this you can make him perceive any thing his senses are capable of: pain, heat, cold, tickles, iching, etc etc. A ninja can make the opponent taste, smell, feel, see or hear anything he wants. However, because this is done by using your chakra to manipulate his chakra flow, the ninja needs to be close or, many times, have direct eye contact or even physical contact. This is the main limitation of Genjutsu: range. The further you are away from your opponent, the harder it is to induce the fluctuation on his chakra flow to produce the genjutsu.

How exactly does it work? Well, every one has a balanced chakra flow. The chakra flows in a balanced combination of both physical and spiritual energies. The ratio between them vary from person to person (that is how each person has a different chakra signature) but its always calm and balanced. To produce a genjutsu, a ninja uses his chakra to disturb that balance in a controlled way. This is done in a similar way to ninjutsu, throught both focusing and molding chakra. A fluctuation is then created in the targets chakra "wave length" and makes it fluctuate in a given way. This produces the illusion by scrambling the users link between his Spirit and his Body which effectively is the link between his mind and his senses. To make your chakra be capable of doing the correct fluctuation, you need to use, most of the times, handseals. These help you mold and shape and focus your chakra to the correct wave length you want to induce, thus enabling you to use it to disturb the targets chakra flow.
Any questions?

Nope no questions yet, I'm just mesmerized of how much complex genjutsu is on this RP system. I can see now that GEN is something that can be mastered, and right now I feel great that I chose a sharingan bio over a Hyuuga *_*. With respect please continue my sensei.

Alright swell, so with that. I'll post a technique or two at a time, all I want you to do is perform it, adding as much detail as you can, and ask questions relating to the technique if you have any, are you ready?

Alright first couple.

(Magen: Kokoni Arazu no Jutsu) - Demonic Illusion: False Surroundings Technique
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 10 (+5 if you use it double)
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user casts an illusion over an area that allows him to manipulate the way an area looks to fool an opponent. He can only change the way the terrain looks, and not any other feature.

Okay so, here I would like you to focus your chakra towards my clone and insert it into its brain; that makes him believe that the surrounding area has changed, but of course within reason. This technique can only change the way the area looks, can't do anything else besides that. So you could change the terrain to rocky area, green plains and even a desert, but you have to be smart about it.

(Genjutsu: Kahen Tonsou) - Illusion Technique: Flower Petal Escape
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user makes five handseals, appearing to dissolve into a shower of cherry blossom petals. These petals surround the opponent, blocking his vision. This allows the user to mask his movement effectively.

This one seems a little useless, perform the big amount of handseals [silly imo for such a low rank technique] then insert your chakra into your targets brain, they will see a shower of cherry blossom petals, this cover his vision. Mainly used to cover your tracks, and/or retreat or whatnot.

Urgh.. Sorry sensei for my delayed reply.. Now it doesn't symbolise a person who's ready lol.

When Naori first read through this technique she thought it should be a basic technique that simply alters the visual sense of her opponents and therefore has limits to how much it can change the terrain. Like its impossible to suddenly make it appear like the terrain is full of rocky mountains. For starters for her to be able to fool her opponent she would have to change something that goes with NB RP logic. Like for example if she were to change the terrain from a sandy one to a rocky one. It would be best if she used an earth technique that produced rock which now she would simply distort the number of rocks produced from small to large or the reverse perhaps. Since the basis of the jutsu is visual gen Naori strongly believes that doujutsu and sensory users such as herself would be able to tackle this jutsu with ease no problem.

Naori molds her spiritual and physical energy to create chakra. After observing that sensei's clone liked to hunt deers. The clone was closing in on one of the said animal. What the clone wanted was to lure the deer into a space where there were trees around it so open season would be easily exercised on it. Naori simply focuses her chakra on the clone and manipulates it so that it would appear as if the deer is indeed in the tree rigged area while in reality it is in a plain tree-less zone. Which leads into the clone taking a shot with his cross bow which leads into the deer escaping with its life.

What I think happens here is that the user after performing those tedious five hand seals a profusion of flower petals surround the opponent as they are revealed from the user and then rapidly encircle the opponent. From the opponent's perspective they see the user desolve into flower petals while in reality the user is still standing still and in a moment would move to a different location while masking their movements. However its important to note that as this stands to be a visual genjutsu therefore only the opponents sense of sight would be disturbed.

Very well done.

(Genjutsu: Kasumi) - Illusion Technique: Servant
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: 20
Description: The user does one handseal and throws a paper bomb at the enemy. The enemy, trapped in a genjutsu will see a clone of the user advancing upon him. As the paper bomb reaches the enemy, it explodes

Ah, perform the seal and repeat the process of inserting your chakra into my clone. While you're doing that, get a paper bomb ready and then throw it at the clone, the clone will see a clone of you racing towards him, but really it's actually a paper bomb, and once the paper bombs comes within the area of them, it goes boom. IT would be nice if this was longer, like mid-range. But you could still pull this off nicely.

(Kasumi Jūsha no Jutsu) - Mist Servant Technique
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost:10
Damage Points: N/A
Description: This illusion creates numerous illusionary clones of the user that appear to emerge from the ground, trees, rocks, etc. If these clones are attacked, they appear to multiply. The user can co-ordinate his attacks with the clones to make it appear as if they are real.

This technique doesn't need any seals to perform it, as well it goes up to mid-range. I think all you have to do is look at them, this technique allows you to cast a illusion over your target, he will see many clones of you, coming out of the ground and trees, well pretty much all around them. And, if the clones are attacked, they will double, and keep doubling. Use this with the actual shadow clones technique, it would work oh so very well.

This technique can be performed by simply making one hand seal and then manipulate the opponent's chakra just so the victim's vision may be altered and just ONLY the vision. This type of illusion the user must be in sight with the enemy where their field of vision is in line with each. It tricks the opponent into believing that a regular clone is approaching them where in reality its a just paper bomb. I believe this creates a slight opening to the opponent as their counter would be of a false enemy then presumably a wrong one which should result in disaster.

To perform it, while Naori is in short range with her sensei's clone; she simply molds her raw chakra then makes this one unknown handseal and inserts her chakra on the clone manipulating his eye sight. The clone sees her clone advancing towards him but it reality a paper tag is thrown to it and explodes. Also I dunno if one paper tag can actually kill a ninja. But hey I'm guessing it can, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Wow.. while this technique seems useful I think it kinda needs a wittful mind to perform. I mean if you have shadow clones or any sort of clones of some sort the chances of it succeeding increases. Also its very situational because you have to time it right when to use it. With that intel in tow you should remember this illusion is a simple give away that its a genjutsu because of it breaking so many logic rules. For starters clone popping out of the ground, trees, wall etc. Is illogical on our ninja world. Also not to mention the multiplying of clones when attacked. Clones are suppose to poof to dust or turn to water, earth and all the elemental variants that exist. I'm not saying its all bad but one thing good about this technique is that it doesn't require any handseals. Secondly it simply gives the user the advantage of attacking from any where, where the user sees as a blind spot. As what most illusions aim to target, the mental stress and frustration this one gives is quite up to the standard.

To perform it Naori molds her chakra again this time she has created herself a friend. Just before attacking she throws a flash bomb behind and above her. As the flash bomb effect starts to fade she had already made sure to inject her chakra into sensei's clone then manipulating his senses. Sensei's clone sees multiple Naoris popping out of from everywhere, the ground, trees and even the walls. The clones confuse sensei's clone then creating a chance for Naori and her clone to attack with their kunais.

Doing amazing, one more D-rank until C-ranks!

(Magen: Narakumi) - Demonic Illusion: Hell Viewing
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user performs two handseals causing it to appear as if a swirl of leaves surrounds the opponent. The swirl eventually falls away, and after a few seconds, the opponent sees the image of whatever they fear the most, shocking them and potentially causing them to faint.

Funny technique. Perform the two seals, then as always insert your chakra into your targets brain, they will picture an amount of leaves surround them, the leaves will go away at some point, then your target will think they are seeing their biggest fear. This technique doesn't any damage, but it will give them a small shock, and if you're lucky they will faint.

Lol at your explanation, I didn't know luck was something we could have as RP'ers lol. The technique is short range and requires not one but two hand seals. Some people may see the hand seals as a deterrent that would lead them to fail to execute this technique. However I think its possible to pull it off while fighting in close quarters. An opponent may swing their sword towards you and you dodge by crunching down while going down you do the two hand seals and you pull it off. To perform it, Naori molds chakra like every other jutsu and injects her chakra to sensei's clone. His clone sees some flower petals moving around. As they swirl they eventually fade away. After a few seconds a monster he fears appears and it scares the hell out him making him faint.

Moving right along.

(Kori Shinchū no Jutsu) - Sly Mind Affect Technique
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost:15
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user casts an illusion on the opponent that makes them believe they are travelling in a straight line, when instead they are moving in circles. This is only effective on moving opponents. If the opponent travels in the circle for hours, they will be exhausted.

Okay so this technique can only work on an already moving target, one you insert your chakra into their brain, they will think they are moving in a straight line, but really they are going in circles, this gen will make them move all the time, and if you are able to pull this off, the target will be exhausted in a few short hours. Range is neat too.

(Genjutsu: Jinmon) - Illusion Technique: Interrogation
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra Cost:15
Damage Points:30
Description: The user of this technique, upon casting on a stationary opponent with physical contact with them, is able to convince the enemy to give away information. However, this will only work on ninja two ranks lower and below than the caster.

Okay this technique only works on non-moving targets they either have to be standing still [which is unlikely] or you have trapped them down somehow, then by using touch you have placed them in a genjutsu, this gen convinces them to give out information they usually wouldn't. But, this technique only works on ninja that are two ranks lower then you, the caster.

(Kori Shinchū no Jutsu) - Sly Mind Affect Technique

A very sly technique indeed, also very similar as the other techniques like that you insert your chakra into the opponent's brain to manipulate their vision. I get that it can be used to make an opponent that is coming to your short range to attack you believe that they are still travelling in a straight line while they are instead running around in circles. This brief moment when this actually happens can be used to attack the enemy and benefit the user in many other ways. For example I think it may be possible that those techniques that require the user to run first before executing them this technique can be used to intercept them. So it can be a great defence and offensive technique at the same time. If I happen to be exposed to such a technique the simple way to deduce I'm affected by it would be that I'm not covering any displacement to my foe. Performing it Naori would mold her raw blue regular chakra and insert it to sensei's clone that is attacking. As the clone runs towards her he is made to believe he is travelling still a straight line that he was intending to do so while in reality he's running round and round.

(Genjutsu: Jinmon) - Illusion Technique: Interrogation

Ugh.. All I can see in this techniques are more reasons why I shouldn't use it. The first technique required a moving target which is easy to find, but a stationary one seems very hard to do. I mean in the concept of RP I can see how useful it can be to get information. But for you to be able to use this technique I have to go through hell a lot just to capture the victim alive that I would use the espionage jutsu on. On the battle arena I don't think its useful the least. As such I don't foresee myself using this technique.

Quick Question
I get that this technique makes the opponent believe they can trust you and therefore they dish out information. My question is since I've been taught genjutsu affects either of the five senses, then which one does this one affect??

Hm, good question actually. It would have to either be sight as they would believe they are giving intel to someone they trust...

(Genjutsu: Jigoku Gouka) - Illusion Technique: Hell Fire
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points:N/A
Description: The user casts an illusion where the opponent sees a huge ball of fire descending from the sky and enveloping its target.

Just by looking at my clone, you will place him in this genjutsu, but of course you need insert your chakra into his brain, this technique makes the clone believe they are seeing a big ball of fire coming from the sky, this technique can be used in a lot of different situations. Example, you could cast this, and then use a water technique, or something along those lines, the range is good for a low rank, and for genjutsu in general.

(Genjutsu: Kasumi no Jutsu) - Illusion Technique: Mist Technique
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user creates an illusionary clone that charges towards the enemy, jumps, then explodes in a cloud of cherry blossom petals which results in confusing the opponent and obscuring their vision, leaving them open for attack.

With this one, look at your target; thus inserting your chakra into there brain, the target will see a clone run towards them, the clone explodes in a cloud of cherry blossoms, which in the end confuse the target, I can see this being a very obvious genjutsu, personally. There is no technique besides this and a few other genjutsu techniques, that use this method. But, I guess the good thing about this technique is that it does leave them open to an attack, and the range is good.

Thanks sensei for that awesome analysis.

(Genjutsu: Jigoku Gouka) Illusion Technique: Hell Fire

This illusion is one of the very basic as once again the user would simply use their chakra to disrupt the opponent's chakra in order to induce this malicious illusion. What I like about it is that you don't have to do any hand seals because the huge fire ball would appear just above the opponent instantly after the opponent's vision is manipulated. It can be used in ways that you have described, and yeah its range is pretty good. Detecting the genjutsu can be done in several ways but my personal favorite would be to analyze its performance, like for example if I didn't see any hand seals made then it shouldn't a real fire ball. If it happens I'm unable to defend from it and its fire has enveloped me not feeling the burning fire sensation would an indicator that its not real fire which then I would need pain to alleviate me from the illusion. Lastly I think its main use is that even if the opponent discovers that they are in a genjutsu that small window of opportunity would surely make you look up to the sky for the fireball while they use another technique to attack.

To perform it, just by looking at sensei's clone Naori inserts her chakra into his brain. Instantly he sees a huge fireball descending upon him from the sky above. As he tries to deal with the fireball Naori uses another unspecified technique to kill it.

(Genjutsu: Kasumi no Jutsu) Illusion Technique: Mist Technique

Another basic visual illusion technique which the user basically inserts their chakra into the opponent and they see a clone that runs and explodes to flower petals that obscure vision of opponent. There are many ways to see through this technique, the obvious ones would be the knowledge of knowing that the opponent never created a clone and you didn't see them creating one. Secondly it would be the clone exploding to flower petals, making it illogical for a clone to explode to that as that doesn't happen. What's funny though is if the illusion reaches that stage then it would surely obscure your vision. The hard one to notice on my pov would be observing whether the clone makes physical contact with the environment, for example when the clone runs towards me if they don't pick up dust when they run towards me or have a shadow then they would be just an illusion. So there three ways to crack up this illusion making it kinda of an obvious way to discover it, although the last one would be easy to spot if you're a sharingan user like myself. If the opponent fails to see one of these three massive clues then they surely deserve to die when that small opening opens.

To perform it the I simply create an illusional clone that runs towards your clone and explodes into a mist of flower petals that obscure your vision. I use this opening to attack sensei's clone from the rear side.

Well done. Welcome to B-ranks, now!

(Magen: Nijū Kokoni Arazu no Jutsu) Demonic Illusion: Double False Surroundings Technique
Type: Supplmentary
Rank: B-Rank
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra: 20
Damage: N/A
Description:
The user will do a sequence of 3 handseals, putting his opponents under a double layered Genjutsu. The user is able to create false surroundings to fool his targets, much like the simpler version of the technique. However, the illusion is in fact layered. If the opponent manages to release the first one, he will then feel the effects of the second illusion. If, for example, the first illusion is that of a desert and the second that of a forest, upon releasing the first one, the opponent will see the desert fade away while the forest appears around him, making him think he dispelled the illusion while in essence he is still caught in one. Each illusion is equivalent to C-Rank and both are casted at the same time. While normal releases will release only one illusion at a time, a strong enough pain or an external source of chakra can dispel both at the same time.

Okay like it's parent technique; but a little different and better if used the right way. Perform the seals, with the last handseal placing my clone in the genjutsu, what's so good about this technique it's double layer genjutsu, so just think of the parent technique where it makes the target think the environment has changed; if the target breaks out of the first layer, the second one is still there, the target will think they have broken out of the gen completely but no! They still haven't, good technique over all, if you actually manage to pull it off!

(Konoha-Ryū: Yanagi) - Leaf Ninja Art: Willow

Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 35
Description: The user waves their sword back and forth, which when seen by the target locks them in a genjutsu which causes them to hallucinate multiple waving arms. The movement resembles that of a willow tree blowing in the wind. With the enemy off guard, the user is free to cut them down.

Okay so with this one, you wave your sword back and forth, by doing this, this initiates the genjutsu, the target will believe they are seeing multiple waving arms, using this technique places the target off guard so you can cut him down, downsides about this technique, requires a sword, and the range is meh. But could be handy here and there, I've never used it so I have yet to correctly get the full potential out of this technique.
