Would you say IGN was too harsh on Assassin's Creed 3 ?
I personally think that they were way too harsh giving the game a 8.5 score.
Just to recap on the previous Assassin's Creed's scores.
Assassin's Creed Brotherhood-2010- 8/10
Assassin's Creed Revelations-2011- 8.5/10
Assassin's Creed 3- 2012- 8.5/10

Ranking it the same as Revelations after all the innovation and hard work put into it.
Things new in Assassin's Creed 3 that weren't in Revelations:
New Character (Connor)
New Setting ( America)
Tomahawk (Weapon)
Bow and Arrow (Weapon)
Improved Multiplayer
Domination (Multiplayer Game Mode)
Rope Dart (Weapon)
Climbing Trees (Movement Improvement)
Climbing Rock faces and Mountains (Movement Improvement)
Flintlock Pistol (Weapon)
Dual Wield Weapons (Combat Improvement)
Countering more than one enemy at once (Combat Improvement)
Using enemies as hostages or "meat shields" (Combat Improvement)
Animals as enemies (Massive Improvement)
Hunting (Massive Improvement)
And a load of other new things .

So how come this great game got a 8.5 ?

Ive bought the game amazing. I think it deserves a 8.9
i say 9.2 they pushed the xbox 360 to its limits. Its been time for a new generation console. Microsoft is supposedly makng a new 720 xbox.
They punished asassins creed 3 for things that it needed like long loading times.

Admittedly this was my first Assassins Creed game, but I thought it wasn't that good. Sure it looked pretty and the ability to move through the environment any way you wanted was done well, but I thought the combat was repetitive, the story was weak, pacing was bad and there were some weird decisions concerning the way you took out the two head bad guys

Spoilers Below

(i.e. not actually fighting them....). On top of that, I'm not a big fan of the animus and the whole past/future stuff. I would have rather they just focused on creating a really in depth colonial period instead and made that story as good as possible; though I know the animus is what the series is, so that may not be a fair criticism. And the finale, when you get to the very end and Minerva is explaining things, its sound like you're going to get to choose to touch the globe or not, but then it just picks for you. Just seemed a little off.

Overall I would have given it a 7/10.
