Well considering the fact that hashirama could tame the 9 tails when it was at 100% power and under madara's control easily,and that yamato could suppress naruto who had been influenced by the 9 tail's chakra difficulty,it is coherant to assume that he isn't even 1/4 of hashirama.

He doesn't have as much chakra nor as much stamina as Hashirama,since he just has a fragment of hashirama's overpowering power(DNA),as seen by what happened to DanzoU_U

To be fair with Yamato, Madara possess the sharigan to copy Hashirama's jutsus and is one of the greatest genius ever, there's no comparison between them。

-Yamato had the ability to suppress a 4-tailed Naruto and also reacted in a way like he could suppress even more tails, when he was rushing back to the leaf during the Pain Arc.
--The only thing/s Yamato lacks is Chakra and Stamina.
--He is quite skilled in wood-release and only falls short to Edo-Madara and Hashi himself.

I would say he is better than Zetsu, Danzo and Obito with wood release.
-Yamato has probably 1/8 to 1/4 the skill Hashi has

EDIT: And this leads me to believe that Oro understood Hashi's DNA more than Madara did.
-Oro was able to have a person use Hashi's DNA in everyday life, while Madara could only create a clone that would help him stay alive and suck at combat
