He is just like Nagato. He wants peace but he is trying to achieve it through methods that seem antagonistic. I don't believe he's truly evil, he actually wants the world to be peaceful. Naruto forgave Nagato, why not Madara? Sasuke said that he is trying to take over the world, which is wrong, Madara said himself that Eternal Tsukuyomi is the only way to achieve eternal peace. So, if you just think about it, Madara is actually a good guy (yeah right). I mean he's not a bad guy.

Sure, WE all look at them like inhuman monsters, just the epitome of evil. The supporters at the time truly believed they undertook a righteous cause. That is one way to define human history. Atrocities commited based on somebody's idea of "good", and "evil". It is all relative.

I completely agree. You should the looks that people give me when I say Hitler wasn't a super evil guy, because of how his actions looked like at the time.
