I like metal, rock, a lot of classical, electronic, dubstep and a lot of rap; I'm cognisant that, nowadays, rappers are materialistic and are largely talentless, but rap has some of the best lyricists—people like Immortal Technique (his music is more analogous to poetry than 'rap', in my opinion).

Same here, I may be a rapper myself but I listen to a big variety of music. Although I agree most of the mainstream shit on the radio is Garbage. However, If an artist can combine great rhyme schemes, strong words, metaphors, good theme and at the same time deliver it all in a melodic and rhythmic structure, you can really get a true feeling of that persons heart and soul even more so than any other Genre. That's just my opinion though Lol
