Today I found a large amount of money. $435 to be exact, it was just on the sidewalk in a rubberband.
Explaining why it didn't fly off.
Anyways .. can I actually keep it and not get in trouble for it? People tell me that I should turn it over the Police. LOL
1. Who would go to the Police the moment they found out they lost money?
2. Hundreds of people can declare they lost a sum amount of money, and just be given it, since money has no way of telling who's it is.
I'm curious, because last year or about to hit 2 years, my friend told me he found $700 at park and just kept it. Then when he went to store and pulled out the wad of cash and a Police nearby told him how he got so much money. He replied "Oh I found it at a Park" and pulled him in for questioning. lol can they really do that? Is there a law against this?
I just want to know something simple to say, and being able to get up and walk away without them forcing me in for questions, because I really don't have time for getting pulled in for questioning, then telling them if that it's legal to do such things, thus leading to the calling of my parents .. just for money I found and having NO WAY of finding the rightful owner.
I know I can simply tell them it's my work/birthday/whatever money, but I don't want to be living in fear of what a cop can do to me, if I tell them the truth.
That's not the way I roll.
