amen broWe are immortal. Our body's arent right now
I actually just registered an account to answer this question. As a philosophy minor, I find this topic interesting, and I have actually wrote an essay on the topic. I would recommend reading a piece by a philosopher/writer by the name of Christopher Belshaw entitled "Good Questions About Life and Death". The book contrast death to life, the relevance to your question being in chapter six, "should i take the elixer of life?". In a nutshell Belshaw argues(and quite well i might add) that immortality, no matter how you fantasize/imagine it, would be worse than death. His reasons are far too complicated to explain within the short amount of time i have available, but it has to do with boredom, loss of character, and loss of depth/meaning to one's existence. I highly recommend reading and understanding Belshaw's argument before passing judgement to this view based on my poor representation of it. Regardless, hope this helps, and keep asking interesting questions!
