Before I begin, let's look at what the hokage position means to Naruto.
(1) Encouragement: the position he so craved for since childhood is an added factor that encouraged him throughout his life.
(2) Emulation: Naruto have always been compared to Minato since childhood. He has idolized the foruth since childhood without even knowing he was his father. So he wanted to emulate the fourth Hokage, his father.
(3) Sense of purpose: This ambition also gave him a sense of purpose and drove him through life up till now.
There are more but I choose not to touch on them now.
Now seeing how special and dear Naruto holds such a position at heart, I don't see how anyone can still blame him for saying how cool Obito was, because at the end of the day he is just praising the same Hokage position that has helped him alot. Its true some people have also claim they want to be Hokage, but the question we ought to be asking ourselves is why now, those claims of theirs is just convinience to serve their selfish purposes.
Naruto has all the qualities that would make him a great Hokage. His so called childish ideals is what would be a buffer to all the previous Hokages. Like all his once enemies turned friends said "you just want to help him".
Now I for one thinks this dream has served its purposes very well and has even bloomed. We now see other Kages willingly letting Naruto take the lead before them, signifying that Naruto would now become a Kage of Kages.
