Begins with a memorial for suckske, who died in the final battle. Then Kishimoto introduces new characters. One will be a new rival for an older Naruto, but a different kind of rival than was suckske. Naruto has developed his power as much as needed. Now Naruto starts on serious maturity development, working on the other skills he still needs to be hokage.
In the meantime, Tsunade retires as hokage or stays to mentor Kakashi as homage (much like Hiruzen was doing with Minato). Kakashi continues to mentor Naruto in this sense because Kakashi only agreed to be hokage long enough to allow Naruto to develop these other skills.
So it is the continuing story of Naruto Uzimaki, his development, and quest to become hokage. Of course there are lingering perils.... those evil things that have crept from hiding in dark places since the old villains are no longer around because there is always some evil in NV that will grow to fill the void. Yes, there is the development of the pairings, since they are all getting to be a serious age. Of course this is one of the areas that Naruto's new rival challenges him. As some one else suggested, there is also a new female character or two to bring a new dynamic to the generation and hopefully some opportunity for Kishimoto to bring back some humor. But it would be good if those new females were seriously powerful, so as to also bring some street cred to the female side of the story.
By the way, this is neither a prediction nor a theory. It is simply a few things that would make continuing with a part 3 interesting and provide a means for continuity in the story of Naruto Uzimaki. Call it the ramblings of a troll, if you like.
